Holiday Inn Manitowoc by IHG

I like everything

Unlike that stay, the hotel was constantly busy this trip, which was near the end of eight weeks on the road from the east coast to the midwest. Stayed at many other IHG properties and the check-in software here seemed to run much more slowly than the norm elsewhere. Think 10 to 15 seconds lapse between each time the staff entered data before they could proceed to the next field. Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable with good soundproofing and adequate cable selection. Not wild about the animal print carpet but the movable end tables were nice. Breakfast is not free; the hotel is too big for all the guests to fit in the dining room. I got a voucher as an IHG diamond platinum member. The food quality and variety is on a par with what other IHG properties serve for free. However there are staff standing at the ready to help, and the dining room is spacious, quiet, and very pleasant with the morning sun coming in. Not sure if the newly restored Inn on Maritime Bay serves breakfast in the dining room; but if not this is the only place in town now for a business breakfast. Everywhere else is diner-style or fast food. Guests with mobility challenges should be aware that it's a longer than normal walk from the front desk to the elevator because the hotel is built around an internal atrium used for large business, social, and charity events. Handicap parking is close to the door and there was never a time when I saw all the spaces full. It was nice to see a recycling receptacle in the atrium. Most hotels don't have any. My only complaints are about housekeeping. Despite the do not disturb sign there was knocking at the door most mornings. The laundry room really needed attention. The detergent slide-in trays on the washers were crusted with dried liquids and hair. One of the washer gaskets had what I hope was mud or dirt smeared on it, and the floor was visibly dirty and needed thorough sweeping. I get that there is no tip money earned cleaning common spaces but if I hadn't been totally out of clean clothes I would have left without using the machines. Overall I would stay here again.

The room was very clean and seemed newly renovated. The breakfast was good and more complete than most.

Location was convenient off the highway

The owner was awesome. Gave us a ride in the van, but the air conditioning was a little poor.

Nicest motel that we have found in Manitowoc/Two Rivers. Conveniently near I-43. The facility is more than several years old, but is still the nicest hotel/motel of many we have tried in the area. Three story, business-class feel. Rooms have both firm and soft pillows--a nice detail. My wife likes this place, so you know where we will stay next time.

I needed a ride to a rehabilitation facility that was 1 mile away . The lady at the front desk made it happen. Thanks to her and Peter . Excellent customer care. (9-25-24)

Our family booked several rooms at this hotel for an annual gathering, and we could not have been happier. Location is great, rooms are comfortable, and, most of all, the staff is super friendly. They even mailed me a few of my clothing items that I left behind, free-of-charge (but I'm not recommending leaving items behind :) ). All in all, a great stay. Will be back next year!

The property itself was good , but had to ask for tp twice…what was up with that??

Our room had an odor like someone just got done microwaving food. We found a dry crusty face down in the bathroom. We got 2 queen beds which fits 4 people but was only give 3 towels. I will never understand this. Didn’t make any complaints bc by the time we were don’t with our event it and got to the room it was after 11pm. Hopefully they will make change and improve for future guest.
