Holiday Inn Express Hotel Kansas City - Bonner Springs by IHG

We were on the even side of the hotel, right by a freeway. It was very noisy.

Very clean hotel inside and out. Lots of amenities. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The desk clerk was very gracious and hospitable and gave a courtesy call for breakfast, which was great. Lots to choose from and delicious. Will be our place to stay when we are in town.

We loved everything. The desk clerk was awesome.

Made reservation online and room was ready when we arrived within an hour. Room was very clean and comfortable. Slept well without noise from other rooms and we were right across from the elevator. The free breakfast was very good compared to other hotels — delicious Mexican omelettes, sausage, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, juice, coffee, cereal, pancakes, chocolate milk and more!

The staff is very friendly and personable. Our flight was delayed and I called to let them know. They greeted me and had the room ready. Continental breakfast had a great selection to choose from.

The manager needs removed from this property immediately because he's a n extremely rude individual. I stayed here on government business for three nights. My first morning in the breakfast area, he snuck up behind me and shouted loudly, causing me to spill piping hot coffee all over my hands. I told him to "knock it off". He replied that he was the manager, so don't tell me what to do. He made Spanish omelets 2 out of 3 days. I explained that I was highly allergic to onions/peppers and he replied that " there's other things to eat, quit your complaining". He makes average scrambled eggs the third day, then pours milk all over the eggs. Yuck. He said "that's the way I make them, so eat something elsewhere if you don't like them". Since it was the only HIE near Wyandotte, I was forced to book another three night stay about a month later. The reservation was made several days prior. When I arrived the following Monday, the desk clerk started checking me in, then told me my reservation had been cancelled. When I asked who cancelled it, he told me it was " Ray, the manager. He put in his notes that your not allowed to stay here anymore because you caused problems before". I notified corporate, but no one there seems to care about your complaints. They side with "Ray" even though he's a little jerk. I'm discussing possible legal action on denial of services without cause. Take my word for it, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Location was great for where our tournament was

Walked into our room- it smelled like dirty wet dog. Bathroom floors were dirty with a white stain on the bathroom door that looked peculiar. The first floor also has windows that apparently open with one small lock to keep the windows locked, alarming.

Staff average, room clean, beds comfortable, decent breakfast, tiny pool that was closed the first day, slanted floors like a fun house, traffic noise from the highway sounded like an airport.

Excellent staff. Location close to renaissance festival was a major plus.
