Holiday Inn Express Janesville-I-90 & US Highway 14 by IHG

We came up for a weekend with our 2 grandkids (3 and 5 yrs old). Mainly we came to swim and use the hot tub. It was an absolute hit. The rooms were comfortable, the shower was super, the breakfast was better than I expected (great variety). The staff was just excellent. Well done- we will be back.

Rooms good and clean 100/100 and the location really wounderfull so my daughter all so likes this hotel and remember gentleman abdilhamid really help us 🙂.

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff in this hotel from the management to the front desk reception and the housekeeping could not be nicer, more helpful, and really makes your stay fabulous. The breakfast room is always well-appointed and taken care of and the attendant there is very sweet. Our rooms were excellent, great amenities, clean, and quiet. Look no further than this hotel in Janesville Wisconsin

Not good 1st impression. When someone comes in and says I only been here 30min. and someone took his cataylic convertor off his car.

During my stay, I encountered several issues that made the experience very disappointing. The shower head would not stay upright, and as a result, water spilled across the bathroom floor, leaving it almost flooded after shower. The bathroom ventilation fan was extremely loud, resembling the sound of a turbine. In the room, I noticed cobwebs, unfinished paintwork, and other signs of poor maintenance. I typically prefer to stay at reputable brands such as Marriott, Hilton, or even Holiday Inn Express, and while I don’t usually consider budget motels, this property fell short of even the most basic standards. It was, in my humble opinion, worse than the least expensive motels I’ve stayed in. Perhaps some rooms are better maintained, but unfortunately, that was not my experience. What added to my frustration was the disconnect between the cost and the value received. I was charged rates more in line with an upscale property, complete with a security deposit and forms to sign, yet the overall condition of the room felt substandard and untrustworthy. In short, felt ripped off. Out of fairness, I want to acknowledge that this is only my personal experience. However, I believe it’s important for management to be aware of these issues. If not addressed, I feel situations like mine should be reported to oversight bodies such as the state licensing bureau for hotels and the Better Business Bureau. I am in the process of doing so.

Rooms: Well, my first room (requested side of hotel away from highway), first floor, had no privacy curtains. The key card would not open the door to the room I was moved to, and that entire area of the 2nd floor reeked of weed. The third room I was moved to faced the highway (as there were no other rooms available not facing the highway?) was humid and dank, and smelled of urine; I travel with a dog, and it’s a crapshoot if you’re going to get a room that isn’t horrible. The faucets in both rooms I got in to leaked from the handle during use, and there was mold/mildew built up in the bottom of the shower curtain. The bathroom vanity was old, damaged, and smelled of mildew. A/C and bathroom fans were very loud, but these helped camouflage highway noise. Staff and Amenities: The front desk staff were friendly but slow, and the breakfast offerings were standard and minimal for this type of hotel- cereal, eggs, sausages, breads/bagels/muffins, etc. There are a lobby refrigerator and freezer with offerings for purchase. ($7/beer) Location: Easy access from highway with lots fuel and dining options immediately surrounding. “Pit stop” area between Madison and Rockford. Busy and noisy. Bottom line: Skip Holiday Inn Express-Janesville.
