La Quinta by Wyndham Clearwater South

It was about twenty minutes from the closest beach.

Great location and great value.

Several youth sports teams kept the lobby busy and too much noise.

We reserved a 4-night stay beginning on Friday. Saturday we were out all day, into the evening. Looked forward to climbing into a nice clean bed, we came back to our room and found that it had not been cleaned or anything. Had to leave for the day early Sunday morning so no time to ask about the cleaning. Got back to hotel about 7pm only to find that once again our room was not cleaned, garbage not removed, dirty towels still on the floor and no clean sheets. Went to front desk and asked why no cleaning of the room. Was told that several employees did not come to work so they couldn't clean all the rooms. I said 'For 2 days?' He only offered me a very weak apology. Went out Monday morning to attend a Memorial Day ceremony after which we decided to cancel our remaining plans, pack up and go home, checking out a day early. Very disappointed with this hotel. We will never be back!

Our reservation didn’t exist when we got there so we had to book two smaller rooms to make up for the one we had originally booked

Staff was great and room was clean.

Bed was hard as a rock. Pool was not cleaned and there were not enough tables and chairs to accomodate multiple guests. Breakfast was horrible with powdered eggs and overcooked sausage.

Rooms are nice, pleasant, clean, well kept. Pool is nice. As a parent of a toddler, I wished for there to be more than only one high chair available at breakfast. It would be good to have several high chairs available even if only one or two are typically used at a time. I also wished for more tea options besides just black tea. Especially an herbal tea option like chamomile/manzanilla or mint. Good value if you’re looking for a central location between St. Petersburg and Clearwater Beach. Otherwise you may want somewhere closer to one or the other.
