Beautiful!

The spa is run down. But I could have overlooked that if my massage therapist was professional and skilled but neither one of those was the case. My therapist name was Gretty and she came to pick me up with her phone drapped accross her shoulder. She walked me down the hall with phone IN HAND and was completely NON English speaking. It was a whole other level of horrific service more like lack thereof. Literally more interested in how her phone looked draped over the uniform than taking care of a paying client. The services are not cheap so to have someone so sub par with the level of the wonderful service and quality of hotel is so shocking! Don’t waste your money. She’s asked one or two barely understandable questions and then put a huge heavy towel over my hair which was heavy on my head and pulling my hair while she proceeded to get started. She pulled on my legs so violently and forced me to bend in a way that was horribly wrong and disjointing my joints. I can’t believe this level of hotel has this low level provider, she clearly doesn’t know the proper body movements and muscles! Literally the worst massage experience I’ve ever had. She was not paying attention to what she was doing and I could feel it. Afterwards she gave me water still grabbing on to her phone and talking on the phone down the hallway while taking me back down. It was deplorable and shame on that spa for hiring such a clearly not cut out to work in hospitality much less servicing clients. The hotel was fabulous from beginning to end, but THE SPA a complete failure and I would stay away! Miami Beach has so many beautiful spas with providers that really know their skill, and this Gretty person does not belong in a high caliber place that charges almost $300 for a service PLUS- Maybe a $30 one.

It was a really great time here, a couple of things to note: - Great location, central to South Beach, felt it was very accessible to get anywhere in South Beach and also only about 20 minutes to Brickell or Wynwood when there is no traffic - The staff is very friendly, they are willing to help any time, you can text a number and someone will assist pretty soon, also the pool staff is great from Emma the towel girl to Raul our server. Also quick mention to Nikola on the beach, he was good as well! - We unfortunately did not try Rao's but looking to try it next time! - Very clean and stylish hotel, and also got upgraded due to AMEX, loved that and their willingness to accommodate us through the whole trip. One small negative: they do charge for a refrigerator ($35 for the whole stay which is fair but this should be a basic necessity I feel) in your room, which did prevent us from keeping cool water or keeping some leftovers from restaurants etc. Will definitely be staying here again!

The only real advantage of this hotel is its location on South Beach.

Unfortunately, almost every aspect of the stay felt like an attempt to extract more money from guests. Beach chairs are included, but if you want a spot in the front row, you have to pay extra. If you want an umbrella, you have to pay extra for that as well. You also have to pay for parking, and if you would like to use valet service, you have to pay even more. Guests are offered a complimentary welcome drink, but it turns out to be only one specific cocktail. This is not clearly explained, and if you would prefer any other drink, you have to pay for it yourself. Even simple services feel uncomfortable. When the staff bring your luggage to the room, there is an obvious expectation of a tip. Throughout the property, there is a constant feeling that someone is trying to charge you for something else. The hotel itself is also showing its age. The facilities and rooms feel dated, and it is clear that this is not a luxury property despite the prices being charged. Overall, the location is excellent, but the hotel experience is disappointing and does not offer the level of comfort, service, or value that one would expect.
