Holiday Inn - Tampa North by IHG

Don’t go to this place. First, they always try to change your reservation saying they are overbooked. They did it twice to me, last time I didn’t accept one king bedroom when I booked months in advance a double bed for 3 adults. Then, the room had a horrible smell, it didn’t have carpet, so that bad smell comes from the beds. The bedsheets looked like somebody slept there and the cleaning ladies didn’t change it ay all. I had to buy a febreeze and put all over the room. But the worst thing was those beds have bed bugs, next day I had a really bad rash, I had to go to the Urgent care, I got a prescription for pills and a cream but it’s a week already and the rash doesn’t disappear yet. My daughter goes to USF, so the hotel is really convenient since is right in front, but the conditions of this hotel are not good. Really bad experience!!

Everything was great except was a little humid.

Location

I like the location to the my daughter’s college, USF. Staff were friendly. Beds were comfy. Snack options in lobby are a good find for the kiddos late night snacking.

I will say the walls and floors are SO thin. You literally hear everything. Toilets are little difficult to flush and look outdated. There were rips in the comforters. And weird black lint on the sheets under the comforter.

It was just a place to sleep. Nothing special. Food is not very good.

Clean new love it!

Shortly before we checked in I received a call from mgr. I called back he was a bit rude because of a payment misunderstanding which was solved the moment I called them at which time he reprimanded me. Once we arrived everything was fine and the room was perfect. Upon check out a different desk agent gave me someone else’s folio which was a different price than my room so that was another wasted 10 minutes as we all tried to figure out why I was being over charged until my husband realized we were looking at someone else’s Room folio. Oh well, mistakes happen. Thankfully the room was clean, safe and comfortable which is what matters.

The room was clean and comfortable. The property felt safe being I was coming and going alone. Front desk staff very kind.

No couch in my room but the photos in my app showed a Couch in the room I booked

My only observation is to put at least two bottles of water in the room
