"Frustrated"

Location

Customer service was really poor. Staff had a hard time checking me into my room because I had a Canadian passport, I got locked out of the room several times and the towels were less than decent. I stayed 4 nights and slept on the same sheets. Floors were sticky when I walked in it barefooted. TV never worked once.

"Roach infested and terrible front desk. Fighting for my money back!"

I called to make a reservation for this Jessup location as we parked our semi truck and trailer at the TA and just needed a night or two to relax out of the truck as we’ve been on the road for some time. Gave my information and gave my card to hold reservation. We walk to the location. The front desk attendant sees us standing there for 30 mins. I ask for an update the card swipe machine doesn’t work so he can’t process check ins only if booked by a third party. I book quickly through Expedia he gave key to our room. As soon as we turn on the light upon entering the room there are 5 roaches we kill immediately and flush. I immediately go down to the front and advise of the roaches and tv not working he says he can fix tv and will look at the roaches. No sir we can’t stay here!! Roach infested. Floor tiling lifted and old. I tell the attendant Expedia will call as I’m requesting a credit bc he is not able to credit my stay I booked through Expedia. Now I’m upset exhausted and disappointed. We walk next door to the super 8 a block over. Clean and no roaches. Expedia customer support claims they called the front desk. I spent $ 200 at this disgusting roach infested red roof inn then another 200 at super 8 hotel. Now im out $400+. And in reviewing my bank account red roof in charged my card $95.00 for what I have no clue!! I hope Expedia credits my money and Expedia or trip advisor should visit these places. There were roaches in the lobby as well. Someone calling the police. Other people saying they also killed roaches. I rather sleep in my semi truck that has zero roaches. I give zero stars!!. Disgusting hotel. Attendants that have zero customer service skills to leave us standing there and saying he didn’t see roaches in our room after we killed them. I have a dog I can’t leave roach corpses in the floor.. Bad!!!

"Horrible and humiliating Experience"

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered, and the condition of this property is completely unacceptable. I stayed at Red Roof Inn in Jessup, MD because it was closer to my job during my transition into a new residence. I also chose this location because they advertise accommodations for one pet and it was convenient for my work situation. Unfortunately, the treatment I received and the conditions of this hotel were beyond disappointing. The first negative interaction happened on Saturday, May 16, 2026, when the front desk agent literally tossed my room key and ID across the counter instead of respectfully handing them to me. I found that behavior rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Then on Saturday, May 23, 2026, between approximately 12 PM and 4 PM, I encountered another extremely unpleasant interaction with a front desk agent who displayed biased behavior, poor communication skills, and a complete lack of professionalism or compassion. I explained my work hours and the reason I was arriving later to settle my stay. Other staff members throughout the week had accommodated and assisted me professionally many times before without issue. There was also a temporary discrepancy involving my bank card. My bank representative informed me that I either needed to wait up to an hour for resolution or go to my local bank to retrieve cash and my card. The front desk agent was fully aware that I was actively trying to resolve the issue and make payment for my room — a room I had been paying for consistently during my stay. Instead of showing basic patience, professionalism, or customer service, the agent escalated the situation unnecessarily by calling the police to have me removed IN THE RAIN. I was humiliated and treated unfairly despite making every effort to handle the situation responsibly. To make matters worse, the overall condition of this property is terrible. This location should honestly be condemned due to the presence of roaches and rodents, poor sanitation, lack of proper housekeeping, excessive noise, and the general unsafe and unpleasant environment. The non-smoking rooms also smell heavily of cigarettes and marijuana, which completely defeats the purpose of paying for a non-smoking room. Housekeeping was inconsistent, cleanliness standards were extremely poor, and the constant disturbances made it difficult to rest peacefully after work. This experience was stressful, degrading, and completely unacceptable. Hospitality should involve professionalism, cleanliness, communication, and respect for paying guests. Sadly, this location failed in every area possible. I would strongly caution others before staying at this Red Roof Inn location! What goes around, COMES AROUND. Good luck to that Redroof location management team!
