Room smelled like smoke Room was 83 degrees inside when we entered

Bed was horrendous 😫 the matteres was hard as a rock.

The location was convenient although the entrance was had for DoorDash to find.

I could get to my appointments easily

It was close to Duke University Hospital

The room smelled musty, and the carpet reeked of some type of chemical cleaning product. The housekeeper was rude and opened the door while we were inside the room. No Fridge and no .microwave. Dog next door barked a lot.

Hotel attendants courteous. Room was warm during lower temperature period outside- early winter weather. Comfortable bed. Plenty of towels and rags for showering. Area convenient to Durham shops and restaurants, and the Duke University campus, where I was attending a game.

Couldn't make purchase from drink/ snack machines. A whole section of items had light just a bit dimmer. I thought that those items must have been sold out. I tried selecting a couple of items from the brightly lit section (large buttons on the machine) but those didn't work either.

Location

The front desk staff. And the fact that I have disabilities and requested a first floor room and it was requested when the reservation was made. This is not the first time that this has happened. It has happened before in September. Also on this stay the elevator was not working. I had to walk up and down two flights of stairs. It cause me a lot of discomfort and pain. I will never stay there again. The male at the front desk needs some customer service training as well as sensitivity training. I left out of the office in tears. My husband tried to talk to the man at the front desk. But that went south quickly. The man started get smart and disrespectful with my husband. He got up out of his chair and asked my husband what was he gonna do about it. This is not a place I choose to patronize in the future.
