Red Roof Inn Virginia Beach

These are the most twisted crooks I've ever dealt with. I had a room booked and they called me at 0900 while I was at work and I missed the call. At 1300, I received an email stating that my reservation had been canceled. I called the hotel and the man told me that the room was canceled due to my credit card not being valid. Then he goes on to say that they only had two rooms left and they were calling everyone to make sure they were still coming and since I didn't answer, my reservation was canceled. Here's my issue, my credit card was fine, have a great line of credit but online it states that you "pay when you arrive" so why was my card being ran supposedly at 0900? Also, I don't need to call and confirm if I am coming or not! I booked the room so that means I needed a place to sleep and either way, they would still get their money because I had a valid card on file. The man then tells me that he can re book me with the same room; however, I would have to pay $250 more... they have lost their mind! He tells me to call back in fifteen minutes to speak with the manager and now they won't answer the phone. I will never ever book at any Red Roof Inn again. Two things I can't stand is a liar and a thief and these people are both.

I liked the location since it wasn’t too far from the beach.

The sheets and bedding were stained with red and brown spots , when given new ones they were dirty as well. The bathroom had a nasty scent.

The room was dirty—cobwebs in the corners, hairs in the shower/tub, our feet were black from minimal walking in the room. The bed was not comfortable and only 2 pillows on a king bed, 2 small towels, no fridge or microwave, no toiletries. Just not what I’d expect for the price at all.

Nothing!!!!!!!Location was very very poor wouldn’t let my dog stay at this property very dirty had to switch rooms twice then pay 23.00 dollars for a upgrade which was worse I took so many pictures of how filthy it was, hearing mice run in the ceiling, had to go to the local Walmart to get towels, wash clothes and shower shoes for my whole family. I definitely want a refund I asked but they said booking.com don’t give refunds.

The locations, they give vouchers out to the locals so they were so many dogs out there, the remote didn’t work for the TV wholes in the floor, overall disgusting. I’m trying to add pictures but won’t let me!!!!!

Room is smell bad !! A/C is not working good. Hard to sleep with the bad AC

It was close to where I needed to go.

The staff were really off putting and emergency personnel were there more than once. Front office person was rude and dismissive.
