Best Western Chieftain Inn

Best Western has been our first choice for hotels for more than 30 years and until now have only been disappointed by one that was in Orlando Florida in 2008. We checked in around 5:30 pm on a Friday. At first glance the place appeared dated. Our room was on the second floor, and there was no elevator. The carpet on the stairway was worn and in need of a good vacuuming. The hallway carpet was equally worn. In our room there were several black stains in the worn carpet. Otherwise the room appeared to be clean, except for the black hair found in the bed. The toilet was small for a big guy and uncomfortable to sit on. The water flow was slow and had a hard time flushing solids. I had to hold the flush handle down until the solids were gone, then had to do it a second time to get everything flushed. The heater unit had no adjustment for airflow and blew directly on the chair next to it. If the chair was moved, it would blow directly on the bed. I had to shut the heat off while we watched tv and left it off while we slept. The vending machines on the second floor were out of order. Hot breakfast was supposed to be served 7:00 AM-10:00 AM We went at 9:15. There was not enough batter for a whole waffle. There was no sausage gravy left to go with the biscuits. When I asked if there was more, I was told "We don't have any more". No apology, no explanation, no concern. There were link sausages that were lukewarm and had been there a while, and there were scrambled eggs that were pretty tasteless. The orange juice dispenser was out of order. No one was cleaning the tables after they had been used, We had to clean the table ourselves. We both ate sausage and eggs, and my wife ate the half waffle. Ther were two tables in a sunroom where we ate. There was a tarp covering part of the room where the there was a leak and a bad repair job. As we were leaving, there were two people waiting at the front desk, and when we walked out we saw the desk agent sitting outside smoking. About 7 hours later we both came down with sudden diarrhea. I can't say for sure that the sausage and eggs caused the diarrhea, but the only thing we ate after that were some potato chips and a protein bar during our five 5 hour drive home This place is not up to the usual Best Westen standards, and we will not be back. There is a Best Western Plus just up the street a bit, we will stay there next time we visit Wenatchee.

We were there for our Anniversary went to breakfast came back and we were locked out of our room an hour and a half later we finally got back in they would not do money off or anything about it this place sucks I would not recommend staying here.ww missed valuable to spend with family.

Good value. Good location. Good breakfast.

Appearance is dated.

I love the location. I can walk to a few different restaurants. It's easy to get to the main streets. The staff is great, accommodating, and friendly. Breakfast is great and consistent. Hope is fantastic. Always clean and generally pretty quiet. If I need additional appliances (handicap) they readily provide them for me.

The uneven floors. Possibly offer goodies to buy for those of us who forget (candy, popcorn, pop, microwave foods).

Property was kept well overall. The poor facility is not very clean, perhaps because of old filtration system there was a lot of black stuff in the pool. The hot tub was also lukewarm, required long time before it heats up to decent temperature (requires staff to turn on heater manually). Gym is small with minimal machines. Some were out of order. Not accessibility friendly. No automatic doors, no elevators. Stairs only. Room service was great. Things were kept clean and their breakfast variety is decent. Air quality in the building was good considering heavy smoke outside.

This hotel has nothing to do with the old Chieftan Restaurant and Hotel in Wenatchee. Billing it as "The Cheiftan" on your site is not accurate, misleading and very disappointing. The Cheiftan was one of the best places to stay in Wenatchee back in the day. This just happens to be a cheap Best Western built on the site of the demolished hotel. We got there to find that we were on the second floor, but there is no elevator. My wife and I are in our middle 60's and have been traveling for three months. We have a lot of heavy luggage. When I told this to the man at the front desk he did not offer to help us, he just smirked at me. After lugging all of my bags up the stairs and getting to the room I tried to open the door only to find that my old fashioned magnetic keys didn't work. When I went back to the man at the front desk he informed me that the keys can't be anywhere near your phone or your wallet or they don't work! This is a Best Western hotel? Is it still the 1990's? Then I went to use the bathroom and was confronted with a toilet the size usually found in a kindergarden or a pre-school. It was comically small. If I was 6'2" I don't know what I would have done. Anyway, after trying to get a good night's sleep between the sounds of the freight trains passing just a block and a half away and the noisy neighbors in the rooms on both sides coming right through the paper thin walls I promised myself that I will NEVER stay at this dump again.

Needs to be a bit upgraded.
