Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Airport

The hotel was clean, bed was very comfortable, and staff was friendly. The 24hour airport shuttle and long term parking were awesome. Sadly, the HVAC wasn't working and the window barely opens so the room was so HOT, by morning it was 80° in it, it was so uncomfortable and hard to sleep, even after an 18 hour travel day. If the ac has worked, I would have given a 10 out of 10 review.

No air conditioning, the room was so incredibly hot.

Arrived late night after a long flight to be told AC in the whole hotel is under maintenance. Room had no way to open a windows enough to get fresh air and absolutely no way to cool the room down.

First time guest and it is a Hilton Garden so nothing spectacular Rooms were clean but dated. Furniture is vintage "wood" and nothing special. WiFi is slow My biggest beef with this location is that when I checked in all seemed good to go but when I got up to my room, it was very stuffy and no cooling was taking place and no fan from the HVAC system. When I called down to reception to request that someone come up to help me figure out how to use the system, I was told "there is a problem and the repair people are waiting for a part" ! Well that is fine but if you were aware of this issue and I checked in 5 minutes earlier, why not pre-warn me about the inadequacies of your hotel ?? How about a little basic customer service courtesy ?? I was told that I should "open my window" to cool things down from the 80 degrees when I first came into the room. The lack of honesty about the shortcomings demonstrates a lack of customer service training and basic honesty about a bad situation. I opened the window and experienced a good amount of road noise. Not sure what was worse ...

The shuttle driver’s (an older gentleman) persistent joking about the hotel ‘s location not being in Calgary caused considerable stress and anxiety in my shuttle mates from abroad who took him seriously despite my attempts to convince them otherwise. Not a good look for the hotel.

Hotel was quite and nice, staff were supwr nice and friendly. Lots of free parking spaces

Food was awful in the restaurant.

Waited for over an hour outside in the cold while waiting for pick-up. Was repeatedly told that van was 5 minutes away when in fact it had lot been sent because of lack of a driver. Had they told me the truth, I would have just taken a taxi.
