Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oakland - Airport by IHG

Very good experience from beginning to end. Good reception, excellent room, suite style, extremely comfortable bed and excellent shower. Very good breakfast, including pancake machine. Everything is new, clean and modern. Complementary coffee and hot chocolate in reception. Straight forward checkout. Couldn’t ask for more (except for free parking).

Clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Great location near airport. Long term parking available. They offer a good breakfast. Coffee machine available in the lobby with ok coffee.

The bed was comfortable.

Couldn't turn the t.v. on.. tried calling the front desk but the phone didn't work.Noticed the remote didn't light when pressed. Opened the cover and found a battery missing. Was leaving to have dinner so I stopped at the front desk and they found a battery. Tried it when back but the t.v. still didn't turn on. Had to pull the t.v. out and disconnect power from the directv box to reset it. Got it working. When ready for bed pulled out the pull out bed for my kid and there were no sheets. No bedding in the room. Went again to the front desk where they found sheets but no blanket. Told me they'd bring one up if they found one. I knew that wasn't going to happen. Who sells a room with the bed but doesn't provide bedding? At breakfast pancake maker was empty, ketchups were empty. Not a very good experience. It seems to be this way in hotels since Covid. Understaffed and neglected. Wifi was not usable it was so SLOW.

Room was great sized. Breakfast was better than average. Close to the airport.

Make up removal cloths in the bathroom.

I enjoyed the gated parking lot even though it cost extra.

I don’t like that the parking costed extra. I know it’s typical of hotels but still upsetting.

An unauthorized person entered my room in the middle of my stay while I was getting ready. There was no knock or anything to indicate someone was even at the door. The door just flew open. There was no reason for a staff member to come to my room as I didn't ask for anything. I don't know if the front desk messed up and gave another guest a key to my room or what happened but that was very concerning. They issued 2 deposit holds on my card. One on the day of check in and one on the day I checked out. They said they accidently voided the 1st one but there was no reversal on my credit card, which caused other transactions I used my card for to not go thru. Not a pleasant experience.
