Nichols Inn of Hastings

Great location! Breakfast was fresh and delicious! Staff was very friendly and accommodating! Facility was clean and well maintained!

Manager was super friendly and we were allowed to check in early so that was nice. Room service cleaned the rooms very nicely.

Pillows were lumpy and not very comfortable. Items at breakfast ran out and no one was checking to restock. Had to bring container to the front desk and ask for it to be refilled. Then instead of bringing it out they just set it on the desk for me to come get it. When I told them there was no syrup for the waffles they couldn't find any. Would have been nice if they would have put up a sign after that stating they were out so others wouldn't keep making waffles. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk. We rang the bell and no one came. We had to wander the halls in order to find someone to check us in. Desk staff were rarely seen at the front desk. They sat behind the desk in another office area. Didn't feel very welcoming. Only mentioning these things so they can be improved on. Was not unsatisfied and would stay here again.

My only staff interaction was with the front desk. Both were very polite and accommodating.

Breakfast and location were both great.

AC unit in our room 119 was not working right and our room was very damp! We said something to the staff the morning after our first night. Carpet, bedding and even our clothes the 2nd night were damp! My daughter, who slept in the bed closest to the window, developed sinus congestion and a sore throat the day after our stay. We have stayed here several times while visiting my other daughter who lives in Prescott and have always been satisfied.

The only thing I liked about the property was the proximity to events scheduled.

The staff were extremely rude and put us and our two children next to three rooms of elderly people. Every time our door closed or our kids were in the pool we would get a complaint from those guests. Staff would not let us sit at the tables in the lobby to allow our kids to play board and card games either. Elderly people were eventually moved upstairs but staff continued to be vile and rude. The price we paid for this hotel was way too high for the unnecessary harassment we endured. I will never stay here again or recommend to anyone. Also, forgot to mention that our smoke detector kept going off between 2am-4am every night and the front desk staff gave my husband batteries to fix it due to lack of maintenance staff. Problem was, the smoke detector did not take batteries. Luckily my husband is handy and was able to temporarily turn it off but waking up to a smoke detector every single night with my children crying also was horrible. They did nothing to remedy this issue.

The choices were amazing.......

Not that it was any fault of the motel, but people on the second floor were smoking off of the stairway and throwing the butts directly onto the first floor entry way, Some people are just inconsiderate!
