Holiday Inn Express Mt. Vernon by IHG

I’ve been coming here for at least 20 years. I live about 20 miles west of Cleveland and I come down here to fish and hunt. This hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly! I’ve come to know a very nice lady named Barbara. She works behind the desk and is do kind and helpful. I look forward to seeing her every time I come here.I would and have recommended this hotel to a lot of my friends. A very nice place to stay! Thank you! See you soon!

On my first night reported that room phone didn’t work, and for the entire 2-night stay no one came to fix it. While turning in for the night, pulled back bedcover to reveal brown skidmark stains on the bottom sheet. Had to pack up all my things and change rooms. Since no manager was on duty left word for her to call me the next day. When she didn’t, I called her after I’d returned home. When I told her about my stay and emailed her the skidmark photo, she said she’d “look into it.” I had expected that this report would be met with some expression of alarm, apology and urgency, but it’s been 5 days and I’ve heard nothing. Not an encouraging sign.

Dated showers in guest room, cracked floor tile, old shower head, cabinet door for room refrigerator broken and hanging

Could use a towel rack in the sink area.

I am a motorcyclist. The parking lot was mostly cleared of debris (rock, stone, gravel & sand) and without potholes. Well lit. And adequate spaces.

Bathroom had only 1 switch for light and fan rather than two. It provided no night light without the fan running which was kind of noisy. I am almost 70 and get up a lot at night to use the bath. Also it was a bit dark in the bathroom - could use more light. Otherwise the bathroom was great.
