I had never been to Philadelphia but the moment I walked into Holiday Inn express midtown Philadelphia I was greeted warmly by Ari. Ari put me on the top floor with the fabulous view. He helped me find a phone charger close by. He has compassion for strangers to his city and cares deeply for his guests. I felt very cared for by the breakfast staff as well. Miss Catherine is the momma energy of this hotel. I cant eat gluten and she lovingly made sure I was ok. She told me to knock on the door if I left early to get something. And Antonio in the dining hall is also a warm caring soul. A staff who care about people is what I found. A staff who intentionally connect with guests and display warmth and genuine care was refreshing. If I am ever back in Philly this hotel will be my first choice.

We stayed one night, and our room was clean, spacious and reasonably quiet (other than a little hallway noise). The staff was very efficient and helpful, and they were happy to store our luggage securely after checkout. The breakfast was a typical hotel buffet, frequently replenished and with a decent variety. We also appreciated the hotel's central location, near the city's sights and public transportation.

Breakfast was really good and the staff at breakfast was the nicest one.

The bathroom and the toilet are so so so small. Towels are kids size.

Staff was very friendly and attentive, and fulfilled all our requests; and room was nice, spacious, and complete for our needs. Example, 1. we had a delivery from Amazon, and they kept it in the front desk while we were out; 2. one morning there was a remodeling or maintenance done in a room across ours and the hammering woke us, thus they offered to change rooms, but we did not want to, so instead we agreed on a schedule that worked for both; 3. liked that the bathroom sink was separate from the bath and the toilet; 4. breakfast was gooood...it was varied and healthy. My kids loooved the pancakes; the room included a microwave, which makes it more convenient than to have just one in the lobby for all guests to use; 5. the hotel had laundry facilities. They had two washers, and two driers, which worked perfectly for me as I was the only one using it lol...so I could do two loads at a time. And the app for paying was super friendly and convenient.

Only a few things I would improve: 1. more space in the bath/toilet area 2. be aware of dust in the room furniture. I saw that the bed stand and the tv/microwave/refrigerator area was a little bit dusty 3. would add a few additional hooks to the room or bathroom area for towel hanging. This is something that, I don't know why, every hotel lack. We always have to hang the towels across the room. There are a few places in the bathroom for hanging, but not enough for a family of four. Someone would say to use the hangers, but we use the hangers for our clothes.
