Quality Inn Huron

I stayed here for the South Dakota State Fair, so prices, of course, are a little higher than other times of the year. I understand. Still, not bad for for fair time-a little over $200. The room was reasonably quiet. I could hear "apartment sounds," like doors closing, but I heard no talking. At night, I heard nothing. The air conditioner was quiet. The fan is on constantly, but it is quiet. This place is a family owned and operated franchise. I met most of the family. Quite delightful people. One thing to be aware of: this is a two story hotel, but there is no elevator. I was on the second floor near the stairs and had no problem bringing my luggage up the stairs, but if you have a problem with stairs, be sure to book a first floor room.

Staff unfriendly and not helpful. Lots of juvenile foreigners hanging around the hallways and stairways and making noise all night. I complained and got no help. Room was not very clean. Hair and who knows what on the bathroom floor. Would not reccomend staying here.

Upon walking into our room the entry tile was dirty, went to the front desk and asked to have it cleaned, was informed that housekeeping was done for the day but could get me a different room. I requested to see it first, the front desk person gave me a key to check the other room out...same issue, the tile was dirty when I waked in the door and this room has a odor...opted to stay with the 1st room. Went back to the front desk to request a broom so I could sweep the floor myself, did not want my children walking thru it. The guy at the front desk then said he would come clean it himself. Happy the issue was taken care of but it should have never been an issue and should have been clean. The next morning when I went to shower, I pulled the shower curtain out and previous peoples body hair was in the tub area where the shower curtain was tucked into...never noticed the night before since I never pulled out the curtain. Lesson learned, will now be checking that.

The property was in need of maintenance and updating. Continental breakfast was very basic.

It's a very decent hotel for the price. Our room was clean. If you are a female traveling alone I would recommend requesting a room on the front side of the hotel.
