"The location was stunning with views of the river. Welsh Rainforest special indeed!"

10.0

We loved staying here. The views and location were unexpectedly amazing. The cottage was spacious and well appointed. The Boat Inn is a super sweet pub originally built in 1650 mind blowing for Australians. The bridge to Redbrook is gorgeous. So many great things about this place. Would definitely stay again!

Nothing. The only thing was that we arrived after dark and there is a very narrow road in with not much turning/ passing space. We were a little lost for a second but found the cottage easily in the end. If you have a larger vehicle better to head to Upper Redbrook Village and walk over the bridge.

"Great facilities for those who can handle the access."

Nice flat/cottage. Good facilities.

It is a characterful cottage but…..very low bedroom door height, several very painful bangs on the head. Wouldn’t book again for this reason. Although not attractive to look at some padding on the door frame to prevent injury SHOULD be provided. Inaccessible for many due to very steep and precarious external stairway to venue. Not suitable for children or the elderly as for anyone not safe with steep steps this would be very unsafe.

"Fab spot"

10.0

The location was fabulous, a little contrived to get to on the pub side but easy from over the bridge. Lots of walks straight from the door. Characterful pub with ok food. I liked that the living area was lino as it meant we didn't have to spend the time stressing about a muddy dog. It's near to Monmouth although major road works there at the moment, when it actually stops raining you could walk there. We also did a lovely round walk to another pub over the river and over the hill which was decent as well. If it had been summer we may have done some boating. We did quite alot of commuting to Bristol to see our son at uni that was about 50 minutes. We will be returning

If I was being really fussy it would have been good to have something to put across the steps just outside the back door so we could let the dog out but like I say that is being really fussy.
