Pier One Sydney Harbour, Marriott Autograph Collection

This was a nice hotel, but too many of the room’s features fell short of both the hype and cost. My biggest grievance is that the walkway space between the bathroom and the mini bar was just slightly more than the width of my shoe (photo attached). Meaning that as my parter and I had to be extremely careful every time we went to the bathroom and of course a few times (both in day and night) we stubbed our toes. Perhaps we didn’t need such a large minibar stocked with food and branded merchandise we could take (for a few) and instead could’ve had more than a 12 centimeter walkway. Additionally, the sheets were absolutely terrible! I’d rate them as just slightly softer than sandpaper. Sleeping on them was like an abrasive exfoliating cleanse! It felt like everything in the room was done 100% for fashion, 0% for function. For instance, a few sets of light switches were hidden behind hanging bathrobes and towels. We’d paid more for a room with a bridge view, and technically we did have that, it was just mostly of the bridge’s concrete base as seen from floor 1. So not that compelling. This was our last stay after 20 some nights traveling Australia, it was the most expensive place, and to be honest, the least compelling, but in a great location. And the concierge took his job VERY seriously, and the room was clean, so that counts for something.

Where do I start - the staff were excellent - every single one we had any interaction with! The location is great and room was wonderful- lots of little touches that make it even more special.

we had a really great stay, although it was just overnight as we wanted to see vivid, the family thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and the cleanliness. The room was spacious and there was a good variety of the breakfast buffet.

This was our first stay at Pier One and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in to the beautiful lobby we were greeted by a lovely staff member who checked us in quickly and explained everything to us. The concierge was also amazing, taking control of our heavy bags and valet parking. The whole process was seamless from woe to go. Would definitely stay there again, a beautiful Hotel located right near the harbour bridge and close to the attractions we wanted to see which included an exhibition close by, Opera House, Botanical Gardens and Vivid, all within walking distance from the Hotel.
