Location was great!

There was a thumping noise in the vent by the bathtub in the bedroom. It kept me up all night .Maintaince came to Check and said it must have been a windy night so a flap was moving in a vent to the roof.

We had a 5 day 4 night Oncor program. At Marriott Ocean Pointe Singer Island. My husband used points for two more days then booked another week (ocean view) through Interval. Monday he fell and hurt his back badly. The EMT’s said, after checking him over, he may have cracked rib which they wouldn’t be able to help him. They have to heal in time. I requested to stay in our same studio for the additional 9 days. We were told that we booked a week ocean view and had to move again after two days. ( this was in the computer system!) The day we were to move, I called at 10:00 to inform them we were packed and ready for the move. I am 85 years of age and had to do the packing, get the luggage cart and lift it on the cart alone due to my husbands severe back pain. I was told at that point we were staying in the same room the next 7 days. The girl apologized for my inconvenience. I started to get tears in my eyes, she said she would have her manager be in touch with us. From 10:20 AM it is now 9:00 PM no call… Monday my husband bought another Oncor program 5 days for next year. I am not looking forward to this. We have never been treated so poorly by Marriott staff!!!

I’ve been going to OP for over two decades- as a couple with no kids, pregnant, with 3 kids and now full circle to just me and my 15 year old daughter. I will say that part of it has gone downhill especially if you stay in a unit that is in the final of its 5 years of Reno. Also, it is very much a family resort during peek times and I no longer see the allure of retiring there without kids (again we went spring break). With that said, LOL we love this place. It’s our home away from home from the moment we check in. The resort is designed for people staying and living. The units are fully equipped for cooking and we do Instacart. We also do laundry and love coming home with no dirty clothes. The BBQ scene (especially on Easter) is both convenient and social. So with that said, there is not the hoppiest of night life. We enjoy watching movies or playing games after walking around after dinner. There is a new taverna that is open until 8 with a nice Mediterranean drink and food to go menu. There’s the good ol tiki bar open till 10 with the same basic burger and beer menu. Theres also a new food of the day menu at kingfish open until 6. When you walk into “town” (really one strip), the path is filled with families coming to and from the hotel. It’s as if we’re the only hotel there but we’re not. Tons of restaurants of all kinds but none take reservations. The sailfish marina is a great walking destination with an upscale restaurant except on Thursdays when they have an art fair and some street food. Next door is the renovated buccaneer which does take reservations but hard to get at prime times (reminder wee were there spring break). The waterway cafe on the intercostal is reopened if you have a car and it’s pricey but worth it. If you like a lazy vacation, you don’t need a car. We even walked to a spa. But if you want to go on some outings, what I write above is the extent of thinks walking distance Back to the premises, Alexis and Adonis and the activities staff are what make this place the best. Water games for kids, a variety of kid and adult BINGO, trivia and more. Oh don’t get me started on pool chairs but that’s everywhere now!

The resort is beautiful with many amenities. Our nice resort experience in May 2023 was overshadowed by the scam Marriott pulled on us while we were there. Even though we have been Marriott Vacation Club members in good standing for 25 years, Mariott shamelessly upsold us into a program called Abound, by completely misrepresenting it to us. Because we still owe $50,000 on this program we didn't want, Marriott won't let us cancel without paying in full - for the program we didn't want! Word to the wise: Do Not Attend Marriott Sales Presentations!! They will rip you off as they did us.!

We had a 10/10 experience at Marriott’s Ocean Pointe! This resort is incredibly family-friendly—everything from the amenities to the thoughtful activities made our stay unforgettable. During our Easter weekend, the Easter Bunny made a surprise appearance for the kids, and there was a DJ, fun water games, and prizes that kept them smiling all day long. Our 9-year-old daughter said it was her best Easter ever—and we couldn’t agree more! The staff was warm, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond to make families feel at home.If you an opportunity to visit don’t hesitate, it will be an experience of a lifetime!!

We used to stay here a lot in the early 2000s – after staying many other properties both in Florida and around the world, I would rate this probably toward the bottom. It’s just quite obvious that even though vacation ownership is meant to be something where the participants pay fees to keep the property up-to-date and upkeep it in this case this facility really has not been handled like that. Things like the small counters, shower, bed and furniture just really show their age of 15 to 20 years in my opinion.

We spent four nights here in exchange for a Marriott Vacation Club presentation. The resort is a family-style property with all kinds of activities geared to families with children. Our preference is for quiet, adults-only resorts. The property consists of three buildings, each with its own pool accessible to all. One pool has a children's pool with the attendant noise and the decibels rise when the DJ rolls out his speakers in the afternoon. Our room was a standard studio on the first floor above the garage. It was comfortable but with lousy water pressure and a low-slung, builder toilet. There is no daily maid service. Most activities come with a charge, including the mimosas offered poolside during Bingo games. We enjoyed our stay and the good rate, but would not return. The beach is beautiful, but was too windy to use during our stay.
