Its Marriott’s version of an extended stay Residence Inn, at economy size, value, and nightly rate. Its substantially less $ than a RI. My son and I stayed a Friday and Saturday night. The location was nice, central to most everything, heavily treed, blended in with adjacent neighbors and townhouses, and very close to the Intel factory. The King room was puny, probably ok for 1 person for extended stay but would get crowded after a while with 2 or more. I wouldn’t consider using the sofa that converted to a bed. Maybe a young child, certainly not a teenager or adult. The airco unit was a bit finicky, but we jimmied with it and figured out how to make it work right. We missed the Saturday morning breakfast because the server “didn’t come in“ and the front desk person tried to help out. We couldn’t wait so we left disappointed and hungry. Next morning there was a person working in the breakfast area, not personable but not rude. The cheese omelettes were good and there was decent selection of other items including a fresh pot of sticky rice. Coffee good quality, variety of juices, and had a waffle maker. We were gone almost all day Saturday and when we returned around 5PM we saw that our room had not been cleaned. We were getting ready to leave for dinner an hour later when the maid knocked on door. Mumbled something above “someone not coming in” so she had to do extra. The poor woman looked absolutely exhausted. We just got fresh towels so she could go home, no big deal to us. Our stay was ok and uneventful except the few noted items. But we will probably pay a little more next time and stay in one of the newly built hotels that are springing up in the area.

I’m a “Titanium” Marriott you could say we like the hotels. Beware of sleeping lower level or below a staircase. We had a bad night sleep with the constant thumping up and down the stairs starting in the wee hours. Topped off by killing a large insect on the tv table with a room brochure and the Bold coffee was sitting empty at 6:45 am. I told the desk lady and the only concern she had was the coffee.

I stay here for months at a time for business. Back in January of this year had issues with the internet for the entire stay. Kept dropping out every 15 minutes or so. Management was unable to remedy the situation with phone number for provider that I was unable to talk to via phone. Offered ‘Enhanced’ internet for an additional $6.95 per day!!! With as many days we stay here per year you would think that ‘Enhanced’ internet would automatically be provided. Regardless, the ‘Enhanced ‘ internet was absolutely no better than the standard internet. Not a selling point for business travelers who need reliable internet for communicating with the home office, doing expense reports, providing daily reports, etc. On my latest stay (April - June), I had major issues with my room and cleaning people. Towel rack in bathroom broken (requested repair which they took care of). Toilet would not flush one day after coming in late from work. Could not get it repaired because it was too late in the day and the maintenance person was gone for the day. ??? I wound up going to a hardware store to get the items needed to fix the toilet myself. Housemaids repeatedly failed to empty the trash from the kitchen (several times a week), would not leave clean kitchen towels or replenish the coffee packets (several times a week), not replenish toilet paper and tissues, fill shampoo and soap dispensers in shower (bring your own). Management would get the items for me when I went to the office and asked for them but I should not have had to do this as many times that I did. I asked for a different person to clean my room and it was ok for a couple of days then I had the same issues agIn within a couple of days. Very disappointed with my latest stay and will ask company to book me in a different extended stay hotel.

I visited this property two weeks ago. It is conveniently located in Hillsboro on a quiet street and area. It's totally a great place for runners who would like to do a short few miles run around the area because it seems like it is tucked in an industrial area that is very quiet and less people. The rooms are a bit small, but nice and clean. The breakfast is not the best, but very accommodating.There are a lot of Asian males who stay here to my surprise. I found out that this hotel is located within distance from Intel and most of these Asians are engineers from overseas like Japan, Korea, and China. They are very professional and quiet. Every morning, they packed their breakfast to go to work because they didn't have time to eat breakfast and I am glad that management did not make a fuss about it. Most places will not allow you to pack food for to go. However, lots of smokers on this property. I like the fact that TownePlace is very accommodating by building a little enclosed smoking gazebo with exhaust fans so that the smokers can enjoy smoking while the rest of us, non-smokers, can go on with our business without dealing with the odor. These rooms are non-smoking and if you violate it the first time, it will cost $250 for cleaning up the smell in the room. If you violate the 2nd time, it could cost as much as $750 and you might be banned from the property. Kudos to Marriott for doing this. I am not a smoker so I like that they enforce the policy. We reserved a king size bed and there was a hint of smoke in the room and had to settle for the queen-size room. The General Manager, Andrea Edrenic, was very accommodating and worked with us to find a non-smoking room and moved us back the next day within the same floor and building. We definitely will stay here again when we land ourselves in Portland.

Our stay was very nice and comfortable, we had a hiccup during our arrival but your management and staff went way above to make our stay memorable.... Thank you.

We had to spend several days here twice while helping with some family matters. What a great location, great staff, comfortable rooms. It was the perfect rest at the end of each day with lots of room and basic kitchen set up to allow for eating in when that was the best solution. The included breakfast is also quite nice.

Internet poor and drops of all the time. Television looses signal or freezes all the time. I have been staying here once or twice a month for the last several months and it seems to be getting worse. Last time the shower faucet was loose making it difficult to turn on. The shampoo was empty. Time before that I was in a room adjacent to Cornell so much traffic and noise making it difficult to sleep.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Quite a bit of traffic noise.

Amazing stay, great value for what we paid and staff was incredible.

Place was clean and nice. I would definitely rent a room here again
