The location was great and we were able to have access to the beach.

The house cleaning did not come on the third day when we thought it was suppose too.

Staff was nice, pool area was nice

Carpet looked like it had animal stains in room and especially hallway.

This is an older facility. With that being said, it was nice. The room appointments were adequate, if the decor was a bit dated. We appreciated that there was a small microwave and a small fridge in the unit. The on-site restaurant, Santiagos (I think), was a pleasant surprise. We ate dinner and breakfast there and both were very good and the serving staff were very nice (hotel staff were also nice). We only spent one night, so upon arrival, we unpacked and headed straight to the beach. While it's a short hike to the water, the beach was amazing. We visited the beach again in the morning after breakfast leaving enough time to shower and pack before our 11AM checkout time.

The room could stand some updating. It was great that there were some USB ports (truly a necessity these days), but as mentioned in #3, the decor was rather dated. There was a large metal panel mounted on the wall behind the TV that had some sort of woodgrain design on it that looked ridiculous. There was another, similar thing on the wall at the head of the bed. I believe the room type I booked was available for under $200 without any ocean view. I paid extra for a "partial" ocean view and they weren't kidding. From the balcony you could see the ocean more or less on the horizon beyond the dunes, but if we had sat out on the balcony only one of us could see it. With taxes and fees included my one-night stay was $362.00. Too much for this type of room with a disappointing partial ocean view. We were also surprised there was not hottub. There is a fairly large pool, but no jacuzzi, which is something we would have taken advantage of in the evening. Lastly, I was denied a late checkout when I requested it on Sunday morning to give us a bit more time at the beach. I realize this is a matter of established bookings, but really? You couldn't give me an extra hour?
