Exit door access was taped off on at least two floors. Not cool.

Was told upon arrival that they don't rent rooms to locals.. Only after I had already paid and reserved the room online and the lady at the desk was very impolite and was playing on her phone the whole time very rude and dismissive

This is a very well done refurb. Clean and with unlimited coffee. Nice linen and complimentaries. Staff friendly and helpful. Breatkfast plenty with lots of choice. Well presented clean and tidy. Perfect to the old city historic sites Bed a little high and I had to unplug fridge and microwave etc as too much light and noise when trying to get to sleep. The air conditioner was fairly modern and did a good job but I had to switch it off to sleep The main problem was noise bleed from the hall way which was excruciating when a family with a baby was put in the room on the opposite side of the corridor. 4 hours of high pitched and screaming hell to the point that I had to complain 2x to reception. Unfortunately that made me review my original.assessment and I would probably not stay there again.

The hotel is undergoing renovations.

The facility is rundown, outdated, shower does not work right (barley any water comes out of the shower head) & mattress is the worst. There was hardly any guest at the hotel, and I asked to make sure they give me a good room and they gave me the poorest quality room in the inventory. The door handle came off and getting stick trying to leave the room. My wife went down to get breakfast, and it was sad state of affair to say the least. I brought these issues to the GM attention, and she discounted them because they won some award years ago. It was falling on deaf ears. They need to make this right!!
