"High end, personal feeling, super clean hotel in Beacon Hill"

10.0

This is a very very nice high end hotel. Tasteful and solid design and furnishings, super comfortable and high end pillows, duvets, beds. High ceilings and spacious feel. Hotel is very solid and quiet--and I am particularly sensitive to noise and often have trouble sleeping. Very nice location in Beacon Hill, small boutique feel. A+ for housekeeping--I will find the flaw or dirt if it's there, and this housekeeping is top notch, it feels crisp and clean. BIG THANK YOU to Daniel and MIRIAM -- thank you for taking care of my high-maintenance requests (fan was perfect :-)) and being warm, responsive, and easy to talk to.

"Perfect Choice"

10.0

Location, location, location....and the availability of the helpful and interesting staff of the complimentary Audi made our trip even easier and more enjoyable. The entire staff was top notch, the room was spotless. The concierge had arranged his/her recommended dinner reservations. We had it all thanks to XV Beacon's outstanding efforts.

"An elegant & small boutique hotel"

8.0

For our 2-night trip to Boston, we chose XV Beacon over other popular and well-reviewed hotels like the Westin and Fairmont both in Copley Place, because of its elegant and classic decor and the fact that it is in the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts programme. We were very happy with our choice in the end and would like to highlight some positives already echoed by the majority of reviews here. With only 63 rooms, it is small but perfectly suited for our short stay. We were upgraded to a Beacon Hill Studio from a Executive Classic Room because it was our 30th anniversary. The studio was spacious and had lots of light coming in through the windows which faced Beacon Street. Dark handsome wood panelling adorned the walls and a fireplace proved to be much welcomed because of a sudden drop to almost freezing temperatures in the middle of April! While everything in the living room & bed section was laid out in an elegant and user-friendly manner, we found the wardrobe and bathroom, both located at the entrance, a tad challenging to use. The lighting in front of the wardrobe is just way too dark - could this be improved by installing lights inside the cupboard, a feature in most other hotels? It really proved to be challenging rummaging through one's suitcase. The bathroom, though quite generous in space had separate hot & cold taps the old fashioned way, making the mixing of hot & cold water an arduous process each time. Also a bit of a hassle was the fixed shower head over the bathtub, where one has to open the half-divider glass door to turn the water on to the right temperature first before stepping in. The front desk and service staff was always courteous, efficient and professional. One valuable asset the hotel offers is the complimentary car service to nearby places. We got to ride in their new Audi a couple of times, which was really appreciated since the temperatures were hovering around 2 degrees Celcius. Both drivers we met were genuinely friendly and chatty, offering tips for our visit. Breakfast at Moo was a delight, and for dinner, we had the most amazing steaks. No wonder the restaurant is crowded in the evenings! Location is handy too, especially if you want to be in the downtown area. Otherwise, Copley Place and Newbury Street are about a 20-minute walk away through Boston Common.

"Lovely hotel - not really FHR"

10.0

Great location, lovely staff, great concierge. Only gripes would be the room lighting (might be just an age thing but I hate dark rooms) and the FHR breakfast benefit which is a measly $30. That effectively meant the $100 dining credit was spent subsidising breakfast, which is a bit poor. No FHR room upgrade either but it was a busy weekend. In Europe where one doesn’t get an upgrade there is usually an additional credit etc but that never seems to happen in the US.

"Beautiful hotel, fabulous location, amazing staff!"

10.0

Very welcoming luxury hotel, and all staff are looking to go to the extra mile to make sure you have everything that you need and want. Fantastic location, close to popular bars and restaurants. Rooms are spectacular and each room has your own private fireplace. We took advantage of the car service to drop us off in the North End for dinner. This hotel is beautiful and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"I've never felt more taken care of!"

10.0

You must stay at this hotel. I can't recommend it highly enough. Aside from the luxurious rooms, comfortable beds/pillows, complimentary bath salts, and friendly staff... I have never felt more taken care of. I got really sick on the second half of my trip, and the way the team at XV Beacon rallied around me to make sure I was okay was nothing short of amazing. The house car took me where I needed to go, the front desk kept checking in on me, and they even gave me a free pot of tea to help me get better. I couldn't ask for anything more, and I know if I stayed somewhere else, I would've felt much more alone. Thank you to everyone at this beautiful hotel for making me as comfortable as possible. I won't even consider staying anywhere else in Boston now, this is my place.
