Yellowstone Lodge

Had crumbs in the bed. Our friends staying in the next room had the ceiling above the tub fall in. While checking out heard others at the counter complaining about their room as well.

Staff was great!

Great location, good bed, hot shower, AC only okay. Our experience was only okay because we discovered the window was open, a used towel on the back of the bathroom door and a bag of trash that had been forgotten on the sink counter outside of the bathroom - looked like it was left there by the cleaning crew. Too late in the game to ask for a new room which I don’t think they had anyways, BUT did make us wonder if the beds had been stripped and remade properly, surfaces cleaned well, etc.

The staff was very helpful with check in and the person overseeing the breakfast worked really hard. The layout of the bedroom bathroom and extra sink is nice as well.

Great stay!The staff was friendly.Good breakfast.Rooms were good size and clean.Easy access to West Yellowstone entrance and walking distance to West Yellowstone village.We would stay here again!

Made reservation in May for August stay. Arrived for check in at 7:00 PM and was told I had no reservation. Earlier in day they had hit my credit card for room charge which was then reversed several hours later. They claimed they had a computer crash in May that lost my reservation, but how did they have my credit card information? I suspect they were over booked, but wouldn’t admit it. I had to drive over 30 miles to Idaho for a room that night. Very frustrating for a traveler to experience this kind of service.

The breakfast was good- muffins, pastry, cereal, fruit, waffles, etc. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Room had a peculiar smell Trim boards around bathroom door inside and outside were loose. Floor between beds around night stand had green glitter everywhere. For the price we paid, should have had better accommodations.

We opened the room door and immediately noticed a very stinky wet dog smell. I went to the front desk to change rooms and the clerk informed me they didn’t have any other rooms. She had a very dismissive attitude and gave me a can of room freshener. I have serious allergies to dogs which can trigger an asthma attack. I ended up spraying the room because I figured in high season in West Yellowstone there would not be other hotel options. Other issues, The air conditioning unit was inconsistent in the air flow like it was in need of a filter replacement or general maintenance so it was very noisy and did not cool the room well. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable in that it totally sagged to the middle so my wife and I had to work to stay to the sides. Very little sleep. The room next door had two large dogs that barked very loudly. Upstairs our room there appeared to be some children trying out for the 5 yard dash quite frequently. Overall this was the worst hotel/motel experience I have had in my life!
