"Very poor"

2.0

There wasn't much to recommend this place. The surroundings were peaceful and pleasant to wander in I guess. At least it was warm.

It was very uncomfortable because everything was dusty. The water jugs looked brown at the bottom. The place was filthy. The bathroom floor was covered in someone else's pubes. The 'Edwardian suite' is a series of rooms in an old woman's old farmhouse. She wasn't very hospitable, and the vibe in the room was fusty and cluttered. The supplied breakfast wasn't very good - cheap bread, little jams and instant coffee and tea bags. The electric blanket didn't work. The location is inconvenient and isolated, and the road in is unsealed and bumpy, potentially a bit treacherous in the evening if you have been to a winery in the area. All that for only $250 a night. Overpriced, uncomfortable and disappointing.

"A sensationally peaceful, relaxing and calming weekend."

9.0

Great location, easy to find and enter this secluded, quiet and romantic cottage set in rolling hills and leafy dell on an alpaca stud with no noise polution to be heard. A friendly welcome with a smile and expediant orientaion. The cottage was cute, cosy and comfortable and, although of an early 1900s modest build all modcons are readily available and working. The mini kitchen had all that was required to cook the "fresh" breakfast provided as well as local produce we picked up on the way. The wood strove was ready to be fired up (for the rainy weekend) with more logs close by to ensure warm and cosy stay. An adequate bathroom with plenty of hot water, plush towels and quality toiletries. Our dog Lochie (Scotish Deer Hound) had a grand time walking the farmgreeting the alpacas and scenting out possums not to mention the safe snug rug near the woodburner. Not tomention a choice of dog friendly, had fab fun, beaches all within a 20 minute drive. Perfectedly located at the heart of the Mornington Pensula a 5-20 minute drive to the Red Hill, Sorrento, Sommers, Mornington and Fliders shops, eateries, wineries and attractions as well as the just round the 3 minute corner "yummy" Main Ridge (goat) dairy and restuarant. As the man sai.. "we'll be back" soon.

The occasional possum party on the roof of the bathroom, didn't last long as Lochie our Scotish Deer Hound deep bark and scamper round the cottage quickly put pay to any thought of parties continuing longer than half an hour.

"Very restful and rustic setting to relax in."

8.0

Wood fire, the breakfast supplied, hospitality touches like the chivalry and biscuits

The possums in the ceiling and walls that disturbed our sleep in an otherwise very comfortable bed

"Lovely location and a property with period charm, but it definitely requires a refurbishment."

Basic breakfast. Great location, very peaceful.

The property needs lots of TLC to bring it up to a good standard. Cleanliness left a little to be desired with cobwebs and dust.
