Santa Catarina Experience in Porto

Lovely and peaceful apartment in the historical part of Porto. Great location - felt very safe😉 Well appointed furnitures. Bed very comfortable. Professional and very good guest service and coordination. Nice terrace with clean furnitures. Near metro station and the Bolhão market.

Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The washing machine is not working. There wasn’t enough keys for the room. There wasn’t enough towels in the apartment.

Mainly the central location, the free wifi, and the patio. Plenty of shops around (cafes, restos, car rental, barber, supermarket, mini mall, etc.)

The wait involved before gaining access to the property which presumably was caused by lack of better coordination. There was a slight delay involved before we could collect our baggages hence when we arrived at the property location the host had left to meet another customer. It took the host about an hour to arrive to meet us to hand over the keys. The apartment itself was nice and spacious for a studio. The amenities and furnishings, however, need an improvement/ upgrade to fully realize its rental potential. In the bathroom, water leaked from underneath the shower door every time we took a shower thus leaving the bathroom carpet and foot towel soaking wet. It must be in need of a re-caulking. The ceiling fan/blower was not working which caused the bathroom mirror to fog up while showering. The white bath towels had seen better days that they had taken on a pale shade of brown. There was no dishwasher which was no big deal. The metal dish tray provided, however, was rusted and no longer fit for drying dishes.

the bed was very uncomfortable, in the bathroom the toilet was not fixed to the wall and it was moving (they said that this is a thing in Portugal but we did not experience this at any other places), we had problems with the shower as well but that was fixed upon our request, the street was very silent, but the place itself was very-very loud due to a lot of apartments in the building, the room was full with mosquitos - we did not open the window but they always come from somewhere so we were not able to sleep at all

the door-buzzer of the main entrance door was buzzing for 2 days straight - that was not only annoying but it was also difficult to fall asleep.

Dreadful. If you want to sleep then don’t stay here. Aside from building works and a leaking shower I did not sleep in 3 weeks. This is first bad review I’ve ever written but wouldn’t want other optimistic travellers to miss out on Porto’s charm because they are walking around like a zombie. Zero noise insulation, a very noisy front door and stairwell, and noise from upstairs meant constant sleep interruption. Communication with Birdnb was dire - I was told to expect noise.
