Santa Catarina Charming Loft

Apartment located in an excellent location on Rua Santa Catarina. It's a busy street with many shops, cafes, and restaurants. I felt completely safe and loved how convenient it was to walk across the street to get pastries or wonderful Port wine. Apartment location to mass transit was very convenient: - 5 minute walk to Bolhão metro station. You can catch a direct metro train here to go all the way to the airport or come from airport directly to this metro stop. 25 minute ride - Campanella train station is a 10 minute walk or 2 stop metro ride from Bolhao to Trindad then 2 minutes walk to Campanella station. Campanella is the main departure station in Porto for all CP (Comboios de Portugal)). Great place to catch a ride for an excursion to another small countryside town in Portugal. Braga was beautiful. Other places conveniently near apartment: Bolhao open market (great place!), laundromat, mini supermarkets, shopping mall. We really enjoyed the decor in this apartment. There's a small kitchen great for breakfast foods and Nespresso coffee. Kitchen was surprisingly well stocked for such a small kitchen. If you're looking for flatware, it's in the drawer beneath the oven. Initially, hard to find!! Loved the big screen tv and all the channels that were provided. Internet worked perfectly. For being so close to a busy street the apartment was very quiet. Great noise cancelling windows and door shutters. We never heard anything from the outside. Gianni met us to open the apartment and hand us keys. She was very nice and accommodating. She also helped us with restaurant selections. All in all, excellent experience and we would strongly consider returning to this apartment.

Have to mention the stairs. 3.5 flights of steep stairs to get to the apartment. Going down no problem, but they weren't that easy going up. Also inside the apartment, the stairs to the loft were very scary. They're steep and the top part there was no railing or wall to brace against. I couldn't imagine this being safe for little kids or for any alcohol drinking adults sleeping up there at night. Because of this I would recommend the apartment use for couples only. Loft area is a great space to get a little privacy from your partner, but stairs could be dangerous if not very careful.

Location was exceptional. The property has all that is needed.

There are no lifts so difficult for those with heavy luggage.
