I stayed at the Kings Park Hotel in Retford from Monday 15th June to Friday 19th June. My stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel is under new ownership since I last stayed. The room was adequate but the radiator was hanging off the wall, as was the toilet roll fittings in the bathroom. The drain in the shower was not fixed and moved about in the shower. Despite putting the notice out for my room to be serviced. It never was. The hotels general appearance is shabby, stained and worn stair carpets and walls all marked and scuffed. There is no breakfast or dinner service either, despite the leaflet issued on arrival stating breakfast and dinner times. All together not an enjoyable stay. I will not be returning to this hotel.

The room was comfortable and clean, It was fairly quiet considering it's central location to the town centre. The window opened and I had a nice view of King's Park. I was met by a lovely gentleman who showed me to my room and even offered to carry my bags. The staff that I met were all pleasant and helpful. There was a nice bar/restaurant area and there are also plenty of options within walking distance of the hotel.

The décor was a little dated and it could do with some cosmetic touch ups. I was a little disappointed that there was no breakfast included for the price ( approx. £60 per night). There was no fan or air conditioning in the rooms but it's an old building. There is no parking at the hotel but there is a public car park just around the corner which was free from 6pm to 8am.
