Die Dorpshuis

It is easy to give a good review when things go perfectly, but it is when things don't go smoothly and the property owner makes an exceptional effort to put things right, that reviews really matter. I turned up to my booking to find the property unattended. Short of time, I booked somewhere else. Booking.com doesn't allow immediate cancellation, even though it is obvious that no one needs two different stays on the same night! The owner was very communicative and understanding and worked hard to help process the refund. To me, this is the mark of an exceptional and responsible property owner. Booking.com needs a more flexible and realistic approach to immediate booking cancellation, where there is a problem with check-in. Making it difficult for both client and host is not great practice.

central location, close to wine farms

Ampie was absolutely fantastic and he exceeded our expectations in every way.. He ensured that our stay was utterly sublime. The breakfast in the restaurant was delicious and we will most certainly be back.

good location, nice place, clean

there are two dorpshuis places in Calitzdorp so there were confusion at check in as I showed up at the wrong place initially as the incorrect address was provided.
