"Bestätigte Buchung kam nicht zustande"

Wir hatten das Hotel zum Jahreswechsel für 3 Tage, 3 Monate im Voraus gebucht und über hotels.com auch eine Buchungsbestätigung 4 Tage vor Anreise bekommen. Bei Ankunft im Hotel wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, dass keine Buchung im System auffindbar war und man uns mitteilte, dass KEINE Zimmer über hotels.com angeboten wurden. (Gegenbeweis über die Hotels.com App noch vor Ort beeindruckte nur wenig.) Man habe aber noch ein Zimmer in einem ebenfalls vom Betreiber betriebenen Hotel (Kurhotel Fürstenhof) frei. Das wäre das einzige Zimmer, das noch frei wäre. Weitere Nachfrage im anderen Hotel hat dann ergeben, dass unsere Buchung über hotels.com gefunden, aber scheinbar nicht wirklich wahrgenommen (oder besser gesagt ignoriert) wurde. Die Reise wurde dann von uns abgebrochen, da das alternativ angebotene Zimmer nicht zu vergleichen war mit dem gebuchten. Die Frage die geblieben ist: Warum ist unsere Buchung nicht zustande gekommen und wieso war eine so schnelle Lösung mit einem alternativen letzten freien Zimmer so schnell da? Kalkül?
