Manor Farm Courtyard Cottages

1 bed 'peartree' cottage is spacious accommodation, with a luxurious bathroom & very pleasant sitting area in the orchard through the kitchen door. All comfortable and clean. Lots of walking from the property to bluebell wood and along quiet byways to The Ridgeway, Goring Gap etc. Community cafe and deli shop on site a good bonus.

Village pub not open every night. Recently changed hands and needs a lot of work on exterior to make it look appealing.

Beautiful place. Comfy furnishings. Very comfy bed! Well equipped kitchen. Lovely little shop in the same courtyard.

Under floor heating so a little hard to control accurately. Takes quite a while to warm up or cool down. But that's just my personal taste and the converse is that it's very eco conscious.

The cottage was part of a delightful compound connected to the Manor House where the owner lived. You enter through an electric gate into a large gravelled area where there's ample parking. Although talked about, we didn't appreciate the quality of the community shop and cafe. Its adjacent to the house, and sells everything you'd need for a stay plus the cafe makes a great breakfast. Its a lovely part of the village. The house itself is large and open plan on the ground floor with a great kitchen and plenty of seating. The heating is underfloor so it heats up really quickly and holds the heat which was essential in the cold weather we just had. There are 2 bedrooms, reached by separate staircases from downsrairs so ideal for 2 different parties. Each had a nice bathroom, although a lack of shower upstairs was a mild annoyance. There is a shower room downstairs with WC so you can still do that. We visited Basildon Park, Pangbourne and Goring in our stay which are no more than 20 mins away. The pub in the village is nice, but was missing quite a few dishes when we visited.

Only thing really would be no shower in the upstairs bathrooms which meant if you wanted a shower you walked downstairs
