An island-wide power outage that couldn’t be helped! It’s a good reminder to always travel with some extra food for an emergency meal!

Exceptional service, Kath, Bill, and Joe, really did go above and beyond to make our stay a lovely experience. Joe was a great help on the first day helping us get ready for our hike and getting settled in Oban, and I cannot thank them enough for the loan of Bill's old hiking shoes (after I forgot mine!) to do the Rakiura Track, just great people really welcoming and so accomodating they made our stay a wonderful experience! The ability to rent your own car (one per cabin) for a very reasonable fee was a super add on. The property had a unique character lovely gardens and setting, the cabins were beautifully appointed and had everything we needed, lovely sitting on the deck with an awesome vista of Horseshoe bay!

What a peaceful spot with the sounds of native birds twittering all around you. A friendly fantail and Kaka come to visit for a chat. Having the ability to use one of their cars was also a godsend and allowed you to explore more of the island. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay on the island.

The owner Bill was amazing. Picked up up from town and gave us a tour of the island before taking us to the accommodation which was very lovely. Also supplied us with a small car at a minor cost to get around on the island. would highly recommend!
