Location, good security and the most amazing view of the mountains

The view of the vineyards from the pool deck would have been magnificent if there had not been other guests staying in the adjacent room for whom we had been told by the host on arrival not to disturb. Geofrey (on-site caretaker and chef) was very accommodating and I'm sure would have made us a great breakfast (based on other good reviews) but sadly we never got to find out as on arrival our host informed us that our rate (high in comparison to other venues we have stayed in) did not include this!

Wellington Country House is definitely NOT child friendly. Apart from our 5-year-old daughter getting shocked by the waste high electric fence at the deck on arrival (this was before the host could instruct the kids as to where they could not go and to be quiet for the other guests) the amenities and decor relate more to a vintage character collection which needed constant adult supervision. For the price one would have expected breakfast to be included in the rate, but apart from the vineyard "view room" by the pool (which we did not stay in) the other three rooms are very small / dated and the 2 double beds not ideal for a weekend away. The linen (with stains) and pillows clearly need replacing and the carpet smelt musty! Possibly security is a concern as evident by said electric fence / security cameras (even inside the house) and the hosts insistence that we lock all doors and keep outside lights on. The host may also want to consider removing a few of the numerous "do not waste water" signs in each of the bathrooms, but the handwritten sign in red on the inside of the one toilet seat cover was unique to say the least!

Perfect location for our event. The staff member that received us was very friendly and helpful.

We were there for a bike race and with the bikes in the room it was a bit cramped.

Die Wohnung und die Einrichtung sind sehr liebe- und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist absolut super und Geoffrey, der gute Geist im Haus, ist ein sehr netter, hilfsbereiter und humorvoller junger Mann. Der Blick auf die Weinberge beim Frühstück und relaxen laden zu weiteren Aufenthalten ein. Vergessen möchte ich nicht die absolut hilfsbereite Gastgeberin, Mara, die mit Rat und Tat immer zur Verfügung stand. Sie hat sich aufopfernd um mich gekümmert, da ich gesundheitliche Probleme bekam. Auch ihre Empfehlungen für Aktivitäten und Gastronomie konnten sich sehen lassen. Also eine wirklich zu empfehlende Adresse. Vielen Dank Mara und Geoffrey für die schöne Zeit bei Euch

Gibt nichts zu beanstanden!!

This place was absolutely amazing. Everything was spotless and the beds were neatly made, which immediately made it feel comfortable and welcoming. The whole place has a very homey atmosphere, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The highlight was definitely the breakfast — the chef surprised us with an excellent meal that was truly delicious and such a great start to the day. We honestly wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting.
