The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa

On our way to Florida, we stopped at The Westin, Savannah Resort. This was our first stay at an Westin and what a delightful surprise! We entered the vast hotel lobby to see family friendly activities: ornament decorating, hot chocolate station and s’more kits. Our rooms were very clean with comfy beds. The ferry to the riverfront was free that expanded our Savannah stop-over experience!

We researched all the best hotels prior to our visit celebrating my wife’s 80th birthday. Since her birthday is during the Christmas holidays she was usually mixed in with the Christmas celebrations growing up. Our visit to Savannah was planned for the day after Christmas for a 3 day treat. Upon arrival the Westin staff asked if we were celebrating anything special and when the lady found out that we had a special event, they upgraded our room to one on the 13th floor. We had paid for a River view, but the one we got was certainly something special. We saw beautiful lights across the river, gorgeous sunsets and all the interesting activities happening on the river. We got free drinks, snacks and cookies downstairs in the lobby, ate in the resort restaurant, and even used the free ferry to cross over into downtown historic Savannah. The room was comfortable with large screen tv, hot coffee, complimentary lotions, hot shower, quiet relaxing room, pool passes, valet parking (extra) and even a Starbucks outlet on the first floor. You have access to golf range and personal spa or gym. As most any nice resort you do pay an extra fee for parking, etc. but needless to say we had an amazing experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Savannah area celebrating a special event. It’s not cheap but take it from me, you will certainly enjoy this place!!

We enjoyed the view from our room, the outdoor pool and dock area, which was a nice place to sit and relax when we weren’t exploring downtown, and the convenience of in-room dining.

The bed was not comfortable, which impacted our stay. A good night’s sleep is important when traveling, and this was disappointing. Additionally, there were visible stains on the sheets and the couch. Cleanliness and comfort are basic expectations, and this stay did not meet them.

During our recent stay at the Westin in Savannah, we were amazed that Mo recognized us after several years of not visiting. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. Mo is incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive—the kind of person who truly goes above and beyond. Throughout our stay, he consistently checked in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His positive energy and warm personality made our experience even more memorable. It’s rare to come across someone who not only remembers guests but also treats them with such kindness and professionalism. Mo is a standout team member, and his service is a huge part of why we’ll continue returning to the Westin Savannah. Highly recommend staying here and if you’re lucky enough to meet Mo, you’ll understand why. -The Martinez Family
