Customer service counts: The hotel contacted me (WhatsApp) to say that the rate I booked was too low, and they would not honor it. They said to contact OYO for any refund. I booked on Expedia (rate was the same on every booking website). Then, I received an email saying due to COVID, they were closing this hotel and offering me a stay at another OYO nearby. As a previous Airbnb host, and now a small business owner, the customer service was pretty appalling. If left us (driving to the hotel) to book another hotel, while we were charged by Expedia for the stay and 6 days later have not been refunded. As a business owner, I would have at least offered a solution instead of rudely informing the customer that the rate was too low and to seek a refund without any assistance. We ended up staying in 3 hotels the same week, all OYO, and have only great things to say. Now, we have rented a home near this hotel and pass by it almost daily. We can’t recommend it. I hope the $19 we paid for night helps the hotel during this difficult time... because for $20 they have means they not only lost a potential repeat customer, but a resident in the area who has many families members visit and has to send them to a local hotel. That $20 difference (we would have paid) they could have absorbed and would have had a full house in 3 months (as we are getting married and cannot host all of my husband’s relatives), not to mention ongoing stays from family members.

Tiene agua de mar en las salidas de los baños, que se supone debes de usar para bañarte y lavarte los dientes (qué no hicimos) al detectarlo, instalaciones antiguas y mal olor en los cuartos y pasillos

"DESCUIDADO Y VIEJO"

Hoteles e instalaciones descuidadas y viejas (chapoteadero sucio), len la habitación que me dieron me avisaron que no llegaba el wifi, el baño y el caño apestaban horrible y las ventanas no abrían para poder orear el cuarto, no te dan control remoto del televisor (no vi television de todas maneras) pero al parecer debes de pagar o dejar un depósito por el mismo, encontré una cucaracha en el baño, tuve que tapar todas las coladeras para que no salieran más bichos y disminuyera el olor, el ventilador de techo demasiado ruidoso, estacionamiento gratis pero inseguro, las únicas dos cosas buenas de este hotel fue la ubicación y que el aire acondicionado funcionaba bien.

"sin agua caliente"

Mi experiencia únicamente fue desagradable el servicio de la regadera que no había agua caliente y llaves de lavabo y regadera en mal estado.

Way overpriced for basically an old and run down hotel. What I was told is there are really no good hotels in Chelem. I think I agree!
