Gîte d'étape traditionnel berbère

Our family of four stayed at Gîte d'étape traditionnel berbère one night between two long days of driving. Everything about the Gite is as advertised and met our expectations.

No access to anything, including wifi as claimed. Owner is a scammer, be careful. Avoid it if you can.

the house is wonderful, furnished with traditional berbers pieces. the location is very convenient, on the way to merzouga and the desert. the place was extremely clean and the family very welcoming and kind. when we arrived they offered us tea and cake and we had the chance to stay a bit with the family, to see how the live. myriam cooked a traditional tajine for us which was delicious. we really liked it, and we will surely come back if we visit morocco a second time.

when we arrived there was nobody welcoming us and we have to search for the main house to announce ourselves, even though we communicated our arrival time. during dinner, it felt a bit awkward the “private berber concert” the guy played for us, cause it felt a bit forced and not spontaneous, although it was nice to listen to this traditional music.

It is really fantastic to experience a life in a traditional Berbere house. The hosts, two brothers, were very opened and warm. They let us meet also their family and see home. Tagini was delicious. We have a nice evening with a berberic drums. We sleep very well in a peaceful enviroment. We very much recommend this place to visit and stay. It is a place you must stop on the way to sahara.

Very lovely traditional place in Ifri! Hamid, the owner was very welcoming, the room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the food was delicious! We would definetly come back here especially since Hamid told us he organizes tours into the desert, so if you have more time than we had, you should definetly go for it! :)
