Renge-an

Nice, spacious location with good accessibility to public transport getting you everywhere in Kyoto you want to see. We went as family of four but it fits five with ease.

What didn't we like? We weren't expecting to rent a holiday house, but this is what we got! Renge is the most beautiful, traditionally renovated house in a much sought after area of Kyoto to stay in. Without realising when we booked, we were right across from the Buddhist temples and shrine, Sanjusangen-do. Just a short bus ride from Kyoto Station, with clear instructions from the hosts. Easy to get there and easy to travel around. The beds were literally like sleeping in a marshmallow. Large bathroom and beautiful shower room, with a washing machine too. Even our own garden. We loved Renge so much, and couldn't recommend it more for families or groups up to 5 people. Thank you so much Renge staff. 10/10 Arigato!

Kitchen could do with more utensils and pots and pans for longer stays. We managed with what was there, but only for a few days. A toaster would be handy! Couldn't find a drying rack after we used the washing machine.
