Breakfast was more limited than I had expected. Meals were served in the pub - restaurant was not open, though I was allowed to eat my meal in the restaurant one night as the bar was excessively noisy and full. Staff were friendly and very helpful, but could not always overcome the lack of certain facilites. It did have a lift, at least.

The small print, hidden deep, deep down the information page hid the fact well that meals were not served on Sunday night .. and the bar was shut. I had not seen this, ans it was rgus unexpected and only because one of the staff helped me to find an alternative was I able to eat at all. Those conditions should be better highlighted, especially when a booking is for a Sunday night. It is also obvious that not all the rooms have been updated.. I had what was supposed to be a disabled room, but it was impossible to move all around the room easily. The bed should have been discarded long ago. And why do designers of disabled bathrooms always assume that you do not need anywhere to put down a toilet bag or toothbrush? It needed some shelving at the very least. Photos pf the hotel are not necessarily accurate.

It was a nice room that was very clean and reasonably comfortable. No air conditioning, but they provided a fan which did the job. The hotel staff were also all very lovely and very accommodating. At breakfast they went out of their way to help me as I needed gluten free food, so they cooked me a couple of eggs, which they don't normally do as it's a continental buffet breakfast, which was very nice of them and much appreciated.

it's a little bit out of the way, but I knew that when I booked it. It was also expensive for what it was at £130 a night, but many places were fully booked so I expect the price went up to reflect that. The evening menu at the restaurant was mostly burgers and fried food and while the quality was OK, the service was slow.

The room was comfortable clean and nice, quiet and I slept very well. The staff has been very nice and friendly

Unfortunately there wasn't any public transport during the weekend and the connection with the town centre is non-existent if you are not going there with a car. (Clearly not the hotel's fault for that).
