Carmen's place

Everything was perfect, Carmen and Marcel are amazing hosts who will take very good care of you and will make you feel at home. Also the place is beautiful and clean, we stayed in the room up in the jungle and could hear amazing sounds during the night. We also enjoyed very much the great breakfasts and dinners in good company😊

Carmens 's place is a beautiful jungle home ,entirely off the grid,an unspoiled slice of forest where she and marcel have created a place where you can relax in a hammock and watch an incredible sunset. Marcel is a fishing guide who knows the best spots to try and catch the big ones. Carmen is a off the charts chef who creates memorable breakfast and dinners, her fish dishes are epic.

The rooms are european dimensions and maybe small for US standards, the beds are comfortable and with open windows the nights a re an adventure in itself.

All of the special attentions of Carmen and Marcel to make you feel at home. In our case, the special skills of Carmen to adapt breakfast and dinner to our special diet restrictions and alkergies. Then, obviously, the paradise view and decks to admire it. Also the free Kayak to vist surroundings. So, really great place.

Nothing, except the addition of fixed ventilator in the room.(but when asked, we got a small portable one, so was ok)

We had a room in a house on a hill in the forest overlooking the sea. Lying in the hammock was really relaxing. Birds singing and the murmur of the sea. The owners from Holland are very friendly. Carmen is an excellent cook, at the same time a very nice and helpful hostess. She will be happy to advise you and help organize trips and transfers by water taxi. The joint dinners were a great experience both gastronomic and social.

The property is off the grid. Only accessible by boat taxi- which readily available. Run on solar, so eco friendly.

Carmen (Carmen's Place) and Marcel (Fishing Adventures) are immensely welcoming and the rooms are basic but perfectly provided. This remote location is in rainforest and access is by water taxi, which Carmen will rustle up if you want to go to other islands or a beach. Her evening meals are a feast, the whole place awash with consideration and kindness. You are surrounded by wet, wet jungle with occasional sloth, boa, wood rails, fireflies, bright white tree-lighting bugs, geckos, many wheeling black vultures and frigate birds and other exotic-to-us avians whose calls amaze. You will be changed by Carmen's Place.

Fierce sand flies abound on beaches ...
