Holiday Inn Washington DC-Greenbelt MD by IHG

The hotel is under renovations which I understand. I don't understand the horrible conditions of rhe remainding portion...which was horrible. I was si uncomfortable that I checked out a few hours later. How do I getva refund?

Hotel desperately needs to be refreshed

Unfortunately, this property is really showing its age. The facilities are VERY outdated and worn. When we stayed there (September 20-21, 2024), the restaurant was closed for renovations, which was a bummer because we had to find outside dining options. The room itself was ok and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom was sorely in need of remodeling. The plumbing didn't work well and the shower surround was showing rust (mold?) stains. The staff was very courteous and responsive. There was a crazy fight in the hallway one night of our stay and security came up quickly to intervene.

They are doing renovations, rugs stained, shower moldy and peeling. Restaurant closed. This should have been mentioned on website prior to booking

The staff was courteous. The hotel is extremely outdated. A complete renovation of the entire hotel is needed. What renovations have been done, was crappy installation. The waller paper, border of the baseboard, bathroom equipment, furniture is old and chipped, mattress is uncomfortable, surfaces show water damage spots, carpet is nasty, everything is dark and gives a dingy feel.

Charged a deposit fee, breakfast was $15 a person and wasn’t worth the money food was cold. shower was dirty, fridge was dirty, microwave was dirty as well this is me and my family second time staying and will be my last.

I do not normally find anything to be worth complaining about, but i felt that my experience here needed to be voiced as this hotel is not properly represented on their booking. My colleague and I specifically chose this hotel because it had a pool, dining on-site, and it was near by to our destination. When we arrived, there were signs saying that there was construction going on and due to that, the pool, laundry facilities and gym were closed. We were also told that the restaurant on site had been closed since the pandemic and has not been reopened. None of these things were listed on the Expedia booking page. We assumed there would be some sort of conference room/business area for us to work in, but their designated business area was the lobby. We ended up having to sit at a high top table in a fairly busy hallway (for a hotel) off the main lobby to get our work done. The rooms were clean enough, but I could hear the tv and people talking in the room next to me (despite the amenities list saying soundproof rooms). When I went to take a shower in the morning, there was barely any hot water and I ended up taking a fairly cold shower. The sink also didn’t have any cold water. Had I known that there was construction and some amenities would be closed prior to booking, I would’ve booked at a different hotel.
