Lafayette Hotel & Club

We love the hotel. It's beautiful, charming, and relaxed. Our room was eclectic, which we liked, but pretty cramped. The bathroom door creaked loudly, and the bathroom window was out of its channel and could not be reset, though it couldn't be forced open.

The food here is excellent. Beautiful bar area. No hot water and no housekeeping.

Beautiful, unique property. Unusual decor, loved the balcony overlooking the pool. Surprising to find no luggage rack, iron but no ironing board, no tissue box, only 6 hangers and none for slacks or skirts, inconvenient way of turning on shower, and relatively poor lighting for putting on makeup, all amenities one expects to find in a 4-star hotel.

Friendly and competent staff, nicely decorated hotel. Street parking a challenge in densely populated neighborhood. Overpriced but centrally located to freeways and attractions. Wouldn't stay here again.

Took my husband here for his bday. Felt like we were in Vegas. Dope experience! We didnt have to leave. Everything was there including a 24 hour diner!

We had such a wonderful stay at The Lafayette Hotel in San Diego! From the very moment we pulled up to valet, the service was amazing and welcoming. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and made us feel right at home. The hotel itself has such a fun, lively atmosphere — you can feel the energy as soon as you walk in. We also had the chance to dine at Quixote’s Restaurant, which was absolutely delicious, and spent some time at the main bar where we had a blast. Overall, our stay was nothing short of excellent. Great service, great food, and unforgettable vibes. We can’t wait to return!

DISAPPOINTING! Terrible experience. Tiny, overpriced room. You are paying for the decor and multi-million dollar renovations!! By 8:30 a.m. every pool chair was “reserved” with towels and not a single guest around—so forget about swimming in the morning. No rule to stop people from hogging chairs for hours. And you can’t even order breakfast until 9 a.m.? Ridiculous. Definitely not worth the expensive price!
