Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa

It's deceiving as the the room I was in was out the back in the 'new part' - miles away from the reception, where they just said I had to follow the red carpet (which then involved two lifts and a long walk) whereas I had hoped to stay in the main old building. The air-con was noisy, as was the fan provided; the bathroom shower did not drain properly and flooded the bathroom on opening the shower door; the toilet did not flush properly; no plug sockets by the bed.

The only reason I am able to give any stars to this is because of the staff. Very friendly. There was so many issues in this hotel that it's shocking they consider themselves to be luxurious. We were very excited to stay here, as the photos looked beautiful online. They had impressive Celiac/Gluten Free options on their website and it looked promising. We also had a dog and thought it would be great to stay here with him. On arrival, we were treated very kindly and friendly, explained about breakfast times, where the pool was, where our room was etc and it all seemed like we were off to a great start. The room at a glance looked beautiful, and the bed was comfortable and clean. Upon further inspection there was some horrors, I'll leave my photos attached to explain more. I don't expect 5 star experiences everywhere I go, but for the price of this stay it was extremely disappointing and I feel we would have had a better experience in the travel lodge down the road. The grounds of the hotel itself are beautiful, however the room we stayed in (4013) was grubby, and actually filthy. A steam clean and a good scrub along with some maintenance would go a long way here. The breakfast was absolutely terrible for myself being Celiac. I asked about what I could eat when arriving to breakfast, in the "green" time frame and it wasn't busy. They had no gluten free bread left. And the buffet had cross contamination, nothing was safe for me to eat. Please don't stay here.

This is third or fourth time we’ve stayed here and first time in new section. We’ve enjoyed our stay each time. Very interesting building. Good pool and gym. Will definitely return

Hotel was impressive, check in staff were brilliant, gym and spa staff lovely. Brasserie really poor, waited an age to be served, had to ask for a glass of water twice before getting one. Chicken Caesar Salad advertised with anchovies, there were none and the croutons were soggy. Left a very bad impression overall for £20…

Great hotel, great staff, superb leisure facilities, bed is comfy and room has good facilities

What a beautiful hotel , gorgeous old period room overlooking the gardens. All staff were so friendly , breakfast was Buffett and lovely. We had evening meal in the Brasserie , this is a modern restaurant. Spa facilities were good. The new bar and in the old building was so beautifully decorated , staff were dressed traditional and were so lovely telling us all about the local area. Overall a wonder stay in this amazing hotel will definitely be back!

Lovely building

Staff were helpful and welcoming. Room was clean and bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Spa and gym were well equipped.

It was fine but not exceptional. Pool restrictions for children guests are unfair.
