Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Decatur

I wouldn't have selected it if I had been made aware that I would need to have an additional $200 before I could check in.

Not the cleanest. Don't love that they put a 200 dollar hold on my card for 5 days.

Location. Large room.

A little dated.

They are not reputable. Do not stay there.

What a crap hole pig stye it is. I can't put how I really feel about it because Expedia will get their panties in a bunch 😭when you exercise your rights and use words they don't like. You can look at the disgusting photos I attached though.

Price was okay it was only 20mins from what we came to town for. Like the room was kinda like a suite with a little kitchen.

200 deposit that is charged for incidentals, and not refunded right away! Room was not clean. The shower curtain rod was put up in a way the curtain would not close on either end. The curtain was not clean! The carpet in the room was stained. The freezer in the fridge was frosted with over an inch of ice that was also colored from something exploding in there. Couldn't use any of the plugs because they are worn out. Nothing would stay plugged in. Dirty wash cloth is from the floor in the bathroom. Another thing to note if you are not the person who booked the room, you won't get to use that reservation. I witnessed 2 guys checking in and because their id didn't match who booked the room. They had to make a new reservation and pay for it.

The parking lot and surrounding area could use some work up with repaving, new side walks, sealing of cracks, etc. The hotel seemed adequate except it could use an update to the building and a thorough cleaning.

This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment, especially given the cost of rooms. Furniture had ripped and stained upholstery and the carpet was heavily stained in rooms.
