Kodiak Compass Suites

The reason you book a hotel is to sleep somewhere. I can't sleep when it's hot. My thermostat was set at 74 degrees. Before bed, i tried to turn it down and it wouldn't let me. I called downstairs and the lady told me she could turn it down on her end. I fell asleep and woke up two hours later because it was too hot. The temp had not changed. I called down again and she said only her manager could control the temp... She could have at least called me back once she found that out. I was awake for 4 hours then got one more hour of sleep before I had to leave. Bottom line, you can not control the temperature in each room. Management has to. Everything else was fine. Super clean room and facility.

One of the worst experiences! The elevator was broken when I got there. My room was at a lower level and they didn’t have any staff to help me bring my bags down. The place is super noisy and front desk staff are not friendly or helpful at all! I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Good food for a $10 dollar burger and fries. It was a good experience. We had a number of locals we had met during our fishing trip. We had many good experiences in Kodiak. We stayed at the Hill house close to the marina and downtown.

Best place to stay in Kodiak. We have stayed at this hotel 2 years in a row. The hotel is clean and centrally located to the dock, shops, dining, movie theater, bowling alley and museums. Everything is right there!, well except the Walmart that is a bit of a walk.

Our tour started here. The staff were accommodating to the needs of our group such as repacking our suitcases in the lobby and allowing us to leave bags for a few days. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Good wifi, good water pressure in the shower. One of our lights did not work and we reported it and were told it would be fixed the next day. It wasn't. That was slightly inconvenient. Breakfast was very basic but we were given coupons to go to the Best Western next door for a cooked breakfast. Don't know if this is the norm for all guests but I was glad we had this option. The fitness room was basic (a bit claustrophobic) but provided just what I needed, a space to stretch and move around and do a brief workout.

Front desk clerk was very kind and accommodating

Brand new hotel with a great view. The kitchenette in the room was very well equipped and a huge plus. Room and bathroom (as well as kitchen) was all very clean. The second floor is the lobby floor. Would recommend this hotel. Staff was friendly and hotel seemed to be centrally located.

Had a huge freezer for fish

I thought thay every person from Compass Suites we came in contact with was pleasant, hospitable and helpful. The only 2 issues we had were we requested in the reservation to have waterview 5 months in advance and the business office was not working for us to print boarding passes. But the rooms were clean and the continental breakfast was perfect
