Fortunata Chacana Guest House

This guesthouse was fabulous! Everything. From the kindness and generosity of the people who work there and the owners to the comfort and beauty of the place itself, not to mention the great breakfasts and lovely garden. I felt like we were being pampered throughout our while stay. In the end, I was also glad to stay in a more residential neighbourhood, given that getting around by Uber is so convenient and inexpensive. If you can, jump at the chance to stay here. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Beautiful hotel, and Bastian was very friendly and helpful.

Location was quiet. Only one good restaurant nearby, but there's a regular and very cheap bus into the city centre.

Beautiful building with exceptional staff. Very comfortable stay with people who welcomed you and had a fountain of knowledge for the local area.

If you are lucky enough to find a vacancy at Fortunata Chacana consider yourself the luckiest traveler to Chile! I absolutely cannot say enough great things about this place, there are not enough stars to capture how wonderful it truly is. From the time of booking they were reaching out confirming details, inquiring about my travel plans, my flight, my arrival. I felt as if I already had a friend in Chile. Upon arrival we were given the warmest welcome and immediately treated like family, treasured guests of the owners. The property itself is absolutely spectacular. A beautifully and lovingly restored Victorian home. This is NOT a hotel but truly a guest house. You feel as if you are staying at a friend's home. Breakfast was laid out on beautiful china each morning and what a great selection of delicious food. Everyone who works here is just fantastic. Thank you to Claudio and Marisol, Sylvia, Basty, Marisol and everyone else who makes this place spectacular for welcoming us into your beautiful home and treating us like family. You absolutely went above and beyond, helping us arrange transportation, connecting us with fabulous tours, sharing where to go, what to eat and so much history about the home and Valparaiso. You made us feel so welcome, catered to and cared for. We so enjoyed our stay with you and cannot wait to return!

The house is very beautiful and very well decorated. It has wonderful details. The entire team is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing.

This hotel is just a beautiful gem; so lovingly restored and well maintained. Claudio, Bastian and all the team are exceptional! I really loved my time here and highly recommend it. The breakfast was generous and very nice too.

The quilt was too hot but I know I'm unusual in that I prefer a light cover and to add layers if it's too cool. This quilt is very warm, too warm for my liking.
