"European style and size room"

6.0

Silverton, Colorado is a very small mining town with one paved street and the rest are gravel. You can drive around to several scenic areas in a regular vehicle, but renting an ATV or bringing one is best to be able to soak in the area. This hotel was built in 1901, does not have air conditioning, just heating, so take the weather into consideration. They were having a heat wave when we stayed there and we were in a room with no windows or airflow, only a vent above the door leading to the hallway, a ceiling fan and a skylight. The room stayed quite warm during the entire stay. The hotel has an outside area for relaxing that was nice, and it would get chilly outside in the evenings. It also has a lobby with dining table, chairs and couches that are comfortable. The room was tiny, with very small space around the king size bed. Bed was very comfortable. The sink is in the bedroom, and there was a 2x2 shower and toilet in a small 'closet' area. I would describe the room similar to some of the rooms in Europe... tiny but clean. If A/C in the summer is important, might make sure you have a window, because that will be your A/C. I'm sure it would be fine in the winter. Make the drive or go and stay at Ouray, Co and see the Box Canyon- then for something not as 'off the grid', go to Pagosa Springs.

"Good stay"

8.0

The room is very clean, shower is great, towels are soft and thick, internet is super fast. The room is a tad small but is fine by us. The only thing that I recommend an improvement is the mattress. It feels like waterbed and gets slanted easily. When you have two people sleeping on it, one moved and the other will “slide” down. The B&B place is very charming though. Hot tubs are very nice.

All the people we met we very nice, friendly and helpful. The rooms are tiny and not kept in the best condition. Ours had the fan chain broken and the shore head barely functional.
