Nara Imai House

Lots of space, many rooms traditionally decorated with enough places to sleep, comfortable beds and pillows, lovely inner garden, all necessary appliances for short or long stay. Additionally, queit neighborhood with public bath and train station. Everything was perfect.

Nice and spacious. Easy walk to main destinations of Nara.

Finding and checking in was easy. JR station close by. Quiet neighbourhood. Beds were comfortable and shower was great. The children enjoyed the traditional style and sleeping with the floor mats. Internet was not good. Wifi was very slow and difficult for even basic surfing. Used my data roaming instead.

This property offers a good chance to experience living in a traditional Japanese house. It's very close to a local train station, and it's a stop away from Nara station.

Nice location. Very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything I need. Not far from supermarkets, and convenience stores. A little bit far from the tourist spots, but still walk-able distance. Overall great staying.

There were a couple of things to like about the place. A couple of sento are surrounding it, the beds felt good, the rooms were clean at first sight, and the fact that it was an small house for us alone was also quite good, a bit small if you would stay there with more than 6 adults. The atmosphere was good. Staying at this kind of a old house gives a very nice atmosphere. The fact that there were 2 parking spots was very convenient as well. The kitchen having more then enough cups and glasses was also very convenient and we were also provided with enough towels for our entire stay. The location is a bit far from all the main attractions in Nara, luckily the train station is quite close-by and you could also just walk towards Nara park, it takes some time, but when on vacation you probably have the time.

When looking under the beds we noticed that there was a lot of garbage, dust and even a cockroach underneath. This may be a place where most people don't look, but should still be cleanup. There is a washing machine, but there is not really any place to hang the clothes and towels after drying. Maybe provide a drying rack? One of the bicycles had a flat tire, and another one did not have a key to unlock. If bicycles are provided they should be accessible and use-able. The communication of the staff seems to be non-existent. The provided manual of the property has management telephone numbers of people who no longer work at the property. We requested 2 futon as we have a baby through messages and they said it would be arranged. However, upon arrival the futons were missing and non of the staff we reached out to knew about the agreement and told us to just use the Sofa instead (baby could fall out so wasn't an option, ended up using the zabuton to make a diy bed). This problem got solved for the second day, but only after many tries to phone and mail the property. My advice for this, change the manual so the contact details are up to date and have better communication between each other. This may seem like a lot of things we didn't like, but trust me when I say that we really liked staying at this property, even with these unfortunate things which happened.
