This place was our best surprise of the trip. If you enjoy absorbing the local culture of a community as part of your stay, then this is the place. Luis, our host and family owner, welcomed us to his great grandfather's farm where we stayed in a newly renovated lodge that was formerly workers' quarters on the farm. The room featured a vaulted-beamed ceiling, spacious living area with a wonderfully comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Plenty of windows offered views and fresh air. The staff offered a fully cooked breakfast with farm eggs fresh from the chickens on their property. Each day, the staff baked a new cake for the guests. The courtyard embraced a pool with comfortable lounge chairs, green grass, sitting areas under the trees, and a large garden on the back property. Yet all of this was enhanced by Luis! I have never met a more enthusiastic host who took such pride in his heritage and showed us around the old house inviting us into the history of his family with pictures, stories, and artifacts. He met our every need. We would return just to stay with him.
