Tamarisi Old Tbilisi

There was an old lady on the desk trying to scam me, the booking cost was 70 lari and she told me if I wanted to pay via a card (which is a standard way to pay) I had to pay 80 lari! then I negotiated and she accepted 75! Totally rude and unfriendly and it seems it is common there to try to rip off foreigners and tourists! It was very scammy, there was also an insect-like spider in the bathroom.

Location, location, location. A walk over the bridge to the middle of the centre of Tbilisi. A short walk up the hill to the cathedral. Very friendly host although we had to communicate via google translate. She is always willing to help. We stayed hete last year and this year just one night. She was willing to store our excess luggage wile we visited Armenia. We will always pop in to come say hello. Glad to see her Mother again and met her daughter (perfect English)

It is an old building and I see in other reviews about a bad smell from the bathroom. We did not have this problem last year. This year we had the deluxe room with a bathroom without windows, situated in the centre of the building. There was a urine smell in the bathroom. It seems to come from the plumbing. This is something that needs attention. We just kept the extractor fan on. We will be back, but will decline this specific room.

We enjoyed our stay at Tamarisi Hotel due to its central location, clean and spacious bedroom and the sympathy of the host!

The location was great near to everything and easy access to the city, and we loved the host lady she was very nice, welcoming and helpful.

The view was not like pictures and we didn’t have a refrigerator as mentioned in the AD, plus the TV was too small and not working

The room was perfect with all amenities, spacious, internet and daily coffee tea with kettle. The location is very good most places are nearby. The host is perfect, she is a veey sweet and kind lady. We even deposted our big trolley at her place when we went to Batumi and yerevan. She helped us a lot without knowing even English much, always eager to help and give us fantastic information about tbilisi. I strongly suggest everyone to stay here considering even the price.
