OYO Hotel Sulphur LA Hwy 90 West

We had been working storm trouble in Texas. I-10 East closed down and we had been driving for 10+ hours trying to get out of Texas. We finally decided we were too tired to keep going. I booked the closest hotel to our location. When we arrived, the office was well lit and the Open sign was on. However, the door was locked and the outside temperature was below freezing with strong winds. I knocked and knocked. I called the number for the hotel. I called Hotels.com. We sat in our truck for over 30 minutes hoping someone would arrive. I had left 3 messages for the hotel. No one came and no one returned my call. We had to backtrack 30 miles to find an available hotel room. After chatting with Hotels.com, I eventually spoke to a live agent. They also called the hotel and was unable to reach anyone. It took almost 40 minutes to get my account refunded. What an exhausting experience.

The ac was super dirty, the water did not get hot, there was mold growing in the vents and corners near the ac, the remote for the tv didn’t work, Not to mention the Super loud train that passed directly behind the building, several time this evening,The only good thing I have to say the guy behind the counter was amazing! I booked 4 night I only stayed 1. OMG.

I NEVER saw an employee there! The place was VERY dirty. My room had not been cleaned in a long time, and was never cleaned from the previous occupation with a dog as well. (I have pics) This, by far, was THE WORST hotel I have ever stayed in, PERIOD! Should be able to post more pics!

The room was clean and comfy, everything worked. I stayed in room 106 for two nights. The room is small, but it was great for the intended purpose, a place to shower and sleep after a day at the beach 40 miles away Owner was quite friendly

At first I was put off that there was no one to check in in person, but when I called the number given at the office, check-in was so much simpler and quicker than any other Hotel I've stayed at.

The owner was awesome. They had a rule that you had to contact them before you can check in so there’s no one at the front office that was one of the downside of it but at sunrise when he was contacted he came right over check me in and let me go in the room because he knew I was tired. I have no complaints about this place.

Great owner, managers, place is a flop-house. Loud trains all night. Bad neighborhood. OK if you need a couple hours sleep. Looks better on inside than outside.
